Dealing with shifting windows on a multi-monitor setup

I have two computer monitors: a 1920x1080 144hz one that I use as my primary monitor for gaming on and a 1680x1050 60hz one that I use as a secondary for browsing/chatting/miscellaneous things on. This nearly always works well, but I've been running into an issue where if I'm running something at fullscreen at a non-native resolution on my primary monitor it shifts everything offscreen on the other -- making chat windows or Netflix unusable. Is there an easy way to fix this on a software/system level? [more inside]

Is the (Windows 7) desktop Tweetdeck still supported?

Unlike the Mac and mobile platforms, Windows 7 doesn't have a native Twitter app other than Tweetdeck. But it appears that it's no longer available and only a web-based version of Tweetdeck exists. Is that the case? What else is there?

Replacement for Echofon (Twitter client) on Windows desktop?

For a while I've been using Echofon as my Twitter client. It's got some things I don't like, but I always assumed they'd eventually get fixed. However, Echofon has discontinued support for the desktop client, opting instead to focus on mobile platforms. I'm looking for a replacement, since some features in Echofon have inexplicably stopped working and obviously won't be fixed. Anyone got suggestions on a replacement? [more inside]

All of this will be lost .... Windows XP pining for the fjords?

My installation of Windows XP Pro (SP3) seems to have developed intermittent amnesia. I've noticed a couple of times in the past week that files which I edited and saved under new names just -- disappeared. (Details inside). Today, after restarting the machine, I found my desktop wallpaper and Quick Launch icons had reverted to what I had several months ago, and my Recent Documents lists in MS and Adobe products was showing material from July 2011 and earlier. Plus, my iTunes library had suddenly been unable to find about 10% of my songs, although I have been able to manually locate them and make iTunes recognize a few again. These "missing" songs are both old and new: I don't see any pattern in time re what has gone missing. I'm assuming the worst -- XP death throes in progress! -- and am updating my data backups NOW. All my applications seem fine so far: I'm not missing anything that was recently installed. No other data seems to be actually missing. While I back up, is there anything else I should investigate or hypothesize? [more inside]
