In search of a lasting wireless network solution

After wasting two different off-days trying to get my damnable modem+router working, I want to return them both and get something entirely new. Any good recommendations for a solid, reliable DSL modem and wireless router set-up with decent NAS support? [more inside]

USB WiFi adapter?

I think I need to get a USB WiFi adapter. Any recommendations? (Bonus points if it also provides a USB port on its other end. Additional information inside, including, perhaps, a question about drivers.) [more inside]

Wireless network adapter supported by Linux

I'd like a wireless network adapter that's supported by Linux 2.4 or 2.6 kernels with a minimum of hassle. I'd prefer a USB network adapter; a USB key would be ideal, but I don't know what sort of reception they get. A PCI card is acceptable as well, though less preferable. Any suggestions?
