Is there any reason I wouldn't be able to plug two Linksys WRT54G WiFi devices into a Linksys BEFSR81 LAN router? Will the WRT54G's play nice or will they fight with one another, requiring configuration to be done? SSIDs will be different of course.

Why are my wireless routers flakey? I have a Comcast cable modem, which I use with a wireless router to create both wired and wireless networks. I have tried 3 (!) different wireless (802.11b/g, WEP) routers (Belkin F5D7230-4, Netgear WGR614, Apple Airport Extreme). In each case, the wired connection has been stable, but the wireless signal periodically disappears without warning. It's not just an interference issue, because power-cycling the router fixes it immediately. [more inside]

I need to replace the wireless router I bought for my Dad a couple of years ago (which has died) and was looking for some recommendations. Signal strength/range is a major issue due to the fact the house has some pretty thick walls and is fairly large. [more inside]

I want to plug a WPA-enabled Netgear WGR614 POS-edition (that I hate) into a WEP-using Linksys WRT54G (that I love). It doesn't work, and I'm about ready to inentionally brick the Netgear just out of spite. [more inside]

My iBook loves to disconnect from my Airport Express that I have set up in my dorm room. Basically, I'll go to sleep, go to the laundry room, or come back from class, and the network doesn't show up in my "Available" list anymore. The green light is still on (it's not showing yellow, blinking or otherwise), and the only way to fix it is to unplug the router for about 5 seconds and reconnect (effectively resetting it). How come when my laptop is jacked into an Ethernet cable (going to a regular router then to DSL) my Internet connection works fine, but when I jack my Linksys WRT54G Wifi Router into the same cable and connect through my wireless card, I don't have an Internet connection? The Linksys front-end shows a good connection to the WiFi. [more inside]

In an effort to segregate the 802.11g devices from the 802.11b devices on my wireless network, I've added an additional wireless router to the mix, set to accept only connections from b clients. However it's not working as well as I had hoped - dropped connections, rebuffering of streaming media, etc. [more inside]

My sister lives in a small town in NH that started offering free wireless access in the center of town. I'd like for her to be able to connect to the internet from her house, which is about .5 miles away from the antenna but with tall buildings (church steeples) in between. She has a desktop, her husband has a Centrino-equipped laptop, and I visit with a 802.11-able laptop. My brother-and-law and I are thinking of building a cantenna or the like and mounting it on the roof . But what do we attach the antenna to? All the routers/"access points" I've looked at so far assume a cable (ethernet) connection as input signal which is then output as wireless or ethernet or both. But we want to both receive and dispense wireless. I know there are "repeaters" that can do this but all the affordable ones I've studied only output using proprietary protocols, not 802.11(g), which would require buying proprietary equipment for all the computers in question. Any inexpensive solutions?

I have a (WinXP) desktop with a broadband connection, and a laptop with a WiFi card. My school doesn't allow wireless routers. I'd like to set it up so that my laptop can connect wirelessly to my desktop and piggyback on that connection, without a router. What equipment do I need? Are there some terms I should Google for instructions?
