I would like to scrape information from an RSS feed into an Excel-readable text file for a completely legal non-copyright violating use. In a better world, I'd have access to the database that generates the feed, but since this ain't a perfect world it appears that scraping is my best bet. Are there tools that will help me automate this, or programming tutorials that will help me figure it out myself (it's been 15 years since I last write any code beyond simple SQL queries)?

I've implemented a streaming twitter widget into the site I manage. However, for some weird reason the script is creating a div or something that is overlaying the entire sidebar, making links above it unclickable.

I just got a Samsung Stratosphere LTE, my first smartphone and first Android device. I'm not looking to use it as a mini computer (i have an iPad for that) but I am interested in how to best use it as a phone and what capabilities or apps are available that don't have an iOS equivalent or work better than their counterparts. What super-neat abilities does a Stratosphere have that might not be immediately apparent?

Wordpress.org Links Widget Problem: This seems like it should be relatively easy, but I can't figure it out – Is there a way I can change the titles of the Wordpress Links Widgets (Blogroll)
as seen in the admin panel? I'm using many instances of the the links widget for different groups of links (trust me that there's a good reason for this), and currently what I see in my sidebar section in the Widgets area of the admin panel is a column of LINKS, LINKS, LINKS, LINKS, etc., when what I want to see is LINKS Topic A, LINKS Topic B, LINKS Topic C, etc.

Are there any good, preferably free, widgets that I can use to build a family tree and put it on my blog? Ideally I would like a widget that has some sort of database behind it, and I would link to a database record for a specific ancestor when I write about them . It would also be cool to show an attractive family tree as a navigational tool to go to old blog posts about specific ancestors. You could click links in the genealogy widget to posts about all of the stories that are tagged "great grandpa Joe," for example.

Dumb question here, especially coming from a web developer ... But I use a Twitter widget on occasion on the front page of the site I work on. We'll be using it again Election night from about 4pm through to the wee morning hours.
The widget is the standard-variety Twitter-supplied widget (
http://twitter.com/widgets).
The problem is, this widget always seems to "die" at some point during its use. That is, it will display tweets just fine for an hour or two (maybe even three, if I'm lucky), then it stops displaying tweets altogether, showing just the styled box, completely devoid of tweets.
Search as I have, google-fu has failed me. Can't seem to come up with an explanation that seems reasonable to my supervisors. Any ideas?

Is anyone aware of a widget and database like Crunchbase that I could use to display my own data on my web site?
I'm looking for something where I could insert a tag onto the web page (or Wordpress post) to call data for that particular item from a database and display it in an intuitive format.
The database could be accessible only by me, or could be a wiki. Does anyone have any leads? I've searched to no avail.
Thanks!

In addition to the
math class, I’m in charge of instructing the violent repeat, juvenile offenders who have earned their GEDs in “experiential life skills.” We have a rewarding brief daily class in money management, employability, independent living, etc. The rest of the day the offenders have jobs around the facility where they’re supposed to be practicing responsibility, initiative, and other workplace skills. In reality, they’re doing mindless chores six hours a day. I’d like this time to be spent more professionally, more business-like, so they can learn something about inventory, cooperation, deadlines, marketing, technology etc. and feel proud doing it.
