I sometimes read about shoes that look fabulous, are reasonably comfortable, and that (with proper care) can last for many years. Although they may be expensive, their durability make up for it. I want shoes like this.

Does it exist yet? - A ski boot for super wide feet that uses snowboard boot type material on the outside part of the foot, but is hard plastic otherwise? (I have a wide foot and only snowboard boots are comfortable for me)

Can you help me find glasses that fit my head? I've only been able to find a fit with the widest frames available, and finding them has been a matter of trial and error, mostly the latter.

I am looking for a shoe stretcher that will stretch so i can make shoes fit wider without having to wear them in. Not looking for the whole shoe stretcher, as that seems quite the overkill. Im not sure if there is a special name for a smaller tool just for width? What is the product that i need and where can i buy one online? I live in Canada. Thanks metafilter!

I have feet that are flat (no significant arch), wide, and on the shorter side (around sizes 8.5 to 9 mens, US). Where can I find decent winter boots (and shoes in general, for that matter)?

Why do T-shirts become wider and shorter over time, and not the reverse? And is there any minimal-effort way to avoid this?

A "wide load" vehicle on the highway seems to always have a sign on the back to indicate that it's a "wide load", but the sign doesn't say "wide load". Instead, it has the letter "D" in the middle of it, and red/white vertical bars. Why a "D"? What does the "D" stand for? Why not just have the sign say "WIDE LOAD"? I'm in Canada, if this is something that'd be different in other countries.
