I have a vague recollection of a very old, black and white cartoon about a huge cat that goes to a junk yard and searches for a mouse who lives in a house (I think). The cat kind of looks like Felix (or so I remember). There is a lot of gold in the episode (for reasons I can't seem to explain).
The second cartoon is also old (probably 70s animation) and is about a boy who has these surreal adventures. I remember him riding his little car all over the place and in one scene, he is walking on a tight rope. There is also an umbrella scene. And I think it rains at one point. I believe the cartoon was British, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone have any examples of some cartoons that reference Film Noir or are drawn in a noir-esque fashion/explore noir themes? [more inside]

Shooting a black and white 16mm film. It's my first (an "exercise"), and I'm not yet sure of the stock.
How do different colors show up when filmed w/ BW film? My specific concerns: how best should I costume my actors so they remain dynamic when photographed (ie. nice deep blacks or pure-ish whites; avoid grey)? Esp: how can I costume them to keep them distinct from the background (grey/brown garage walls). Let me know if you need more info to be helpful; thanks meta people.

Need photography help in the Kansas City Metro area. I have no photog back ground so I need some advice. I have several old black and white negatives from the 1940's. They need to be developed and printed. Then I want to archive them on cd's. The size is 6 1/4 inch by 3 1/2 inch.
Any recommendations? Thanks
