I have a great best man. I do not want to have a "co" best man at my wedding. I have another friend who is very close to me, and I want to give him a title that signifies he isn't simply a groomsmen but is one of my very closest friends. Is there another title I can give him which will make him feel important and that's not BS. Thanks, Z

What's that movie? filter: I'm looking for the title of a classic movie where a couple plans a wedding and it makes everyone unhappy. [more inside]

Taking my wedding dress on a plane- Help!
I have two options:
1) Take it in the bag and hope that the plane will hang it up in first class even though i am sitting in coach
2) Pack it in my bag (its fairly small and lace) and get it steamed somewhere on the other end. Where can you get things steamed? Do they do that at dry cleaner?
What do you recommend?

Wedding week, visiting parents, close quarters: my parents helped me buy the apartment my fiance and I live in. They'd like to stay on our couch for three nights before the wedding. I love them, like spending time with them, and would want them to stay with us... any other week except this one! Am I being a jerk? [more inside]

Can anyone recommend an Irish - or even Northern Irish - poem or extract, on the topic of love or romance, that would be suitable to be read out at a civil wedding (ie, no references to God or religion allowed) [more inside]

We're gettin' hitched in Pittsburgh!
I need help finding a reception/ceremony venue that 1) will hold at least 150 people, 2) will let me bring in my own catering, 3) will have a bar or a way to bring in a few kegs, and 4) be in a tent or indoors. [more inside]

My fiance is looking for wedding dresses this weekend, and is wondering if anyone has recommendations for stores in the San Francisco Bay Area (esp. SF, Peninsula and San Jose areas). She is looking for places with a good selection of <$2000 dresses. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The soon-to-be-Mrs. and I have a wedding coming up in about six months, and we're in the planning stages right now. Married members - what do you know now (about wedding planning) that you wish you had known then? What are the little things that we should be thinking of now, but aren't? Others - what were some little things that you remember about weddings you've attended? What worked, and what didn't? [more inside]
