So my fiance and I have been engaged for two years, and have started the process of wedding planning. One thing I am putting my foot down about is to not have a "traditional" wedding, including a white dress like every other bride. No off-white cop outs like ivory or cream, either. [more inside]
I took the dive into wedding planning and tried on dresses. It was fun, but everything felt pretty formal (and really expensive). I have seen interesting and more budget friendly dresses at places like Modcloth and so now I wonder: what other companies or stores carry wedding dresses? [more inside]
I live in central Jersey, but for #reasons am planning on getting married next month at the courthouse in NYC. I have a few questions about how to make this a special day. [more inside]

I'm getting married in July, and I found a potential wedding dress I like (yah! here @ modcloth) but they don't have it available in my size anymore (boo!). Does anybody have suggestions for dresses out there that are similar-ish? [more inside]
I recently got engaged, and am so happy about this! But, I am not the type of girl who always dreamed about what my wedding would be like...basically, I'm more of a casual-type person who is not super into party planning (nor is the hubby-to-be). :) I feel like we need some help in figuring out how to make this wedding happen, but I don't want to get sucked into all the wedding industry stuff...we are not rich, and to the extent we will want to spend money on this, it is probably not on things like ridiculously expensive flower arrangements. So, two questions: [more inside]
Please help me find this retro wedding dress boutique in NYC that caters to plus-sized women. I may have totally made up this place in my head. [more inside]
Hello all. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for a wedding dress shop in London or the Home Counties. I've googled extensively, but there's nothing like a personal recommendation, and none of my friends/family have got married in recent years. I'm looking for a fairly traditional style of dress, budget is flexible (ie, splurge), and excellent customer service is really important to me. Complicating factor: if all goes well, I'll be about five months pregnant on the wedding day, so a shop that could handle that would be great. Any suggestions (or warnings!) would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I'm getting married in a year, and am currently a bit out of shape. I feel I should lose weight to fit into the nicer wedding dresses, but need feedback on how realistic/rational my goals are - especially given a complicated history. Also, how to deal with a fiance who has strong concerns about this whole thing? [more inside]
