I'm looking for advice for what to give my (5) bridesmaids. They're smart, cool women in their thirties (and of a variety of shapes and sizes), and I'm not sure that many of the typical gifts I see on some sites (super-froofy jewelry, pastel totes, etc.) would be appropriate/appreciated.

A number of years back I gave a pair of Swatches like these as a wedding gift. It's hard to tell from the photo, but one watch has the hours, the other has the minutes. They belong together so much that they barely function separately. I have a bunch of wedding-related gifts to give in the near future. Can anyone recommend paired things in a similar vein?

I'm getting married next Saturday. I don't know what to get the two women who are standing up with me. We are 30 something women (technically cheating for me). Both quite artsy. I can't (or don't feel competent) buying jewelry or art or books for them (though that's what they like). Any ideas? [more inside]

I've been invited to an "open house" in celebration of a wedding between two Mormons and have no idea what the etiquette is for such a function, particularly considering my past relationship (and current lack thereof) with the groom. [more inside]

My best friend is having a civil marriage ceremony and then going to Paris for two weeks with her husband and family (parents, etc.) to celebrate. What is something thoughtful that I could give them for the Paris trip, preferably something they could use in Paris but that I could buy or arrange here over the phone or by email? [more inside]

My good friend is getting married this summer and her bridal shower is this weekend. I'm pretty new to this whole wedding thing. What sort of gift is appropriate? I don't want to buy anything cheesy or pornographic.

Wedding etiquette question. We live in the US, but are having a ceremony in the UK. We don't want to have to haul the booty presents back, and many UK appliances will not work in US because of the voltage. Any Mefites had experience of the correct way of asking for cold, hard cash for wedding gifts?
