Software or Websites Adopting IEC Standard Binary Prefixes?

The latest version of ReverseConnect uses IEC Standard Binary Prefixes (kibi-, mebi-, gibi-, etc.). Are there other examples of software, websites or other media that are adopting this less ambiguous usage?

Calendar and Classifieds

I build a lot of "community" sites - that is, not web communities, but websites that support specific communities. So I'm hunting around for a good set of decent and free PHP/MySQL scripts to do the sorts of things these communities often demand. Now up? A public events calendar and classified ads. AskMeFi has helped before, so hat in hand, I come back to the well hoping for more. [More Inside] [more inside]

Chinese websites - best value for my advertising dollar?

On which Chinese website should I advertise? Average Chinese websites are thought to have at least ten times bigger audience, but maybe their advertising prices are not very different. So does anyone have any idea about the most popular Chinese websites and their ad prices?

Seeking reliable websites that sell hard-to-find Japanese, Korean, Hong Kong movies on DVD

I'm looking for high quality, reliable (since they'll end up having my credit card number) English-language sites that sell (and ship internationally) hard-to-find Japanese, Korean, Hong Kong movies on DVD. There are so many sites that seem to do that. What do you recommend? Also, tangentially related: is there an all-English-language version of the very interesting Amazon.co.jp? My Japanese is close to non-existent thanks

Top image bar on website broken in IE6 and FF; text is obscured. How to fix this?

I've knocked up a website which is modifed from some of the templates from the layout reservoir. However the top bar which contains the image is causing problems under some browsers (IE6 and Firefox being two) because the height doesn't match the image height which means that the text is obscured. Any suggestions? [more inside]

Where can I find free, good-quality icons?

I'd really like some nice-looking icons for a site I'm working on. The functions that need icons are 'front/home', 'make post/new post', 'archives', 'options', 'register', 'log in' and 'log out'. The 64x64 size would be ideal. Surely someone out there must produce free icons for this kind of thing? The site is completely non-profit.

Is there a review aggregator for London theatre?

I'm about to head off to London and I want to see some good, serious theatre. I'm VERY careful about what I see (theatre being expensive), and I like to read many reviews first. Instead of buying 30 newspapers and magazines, is there a site somewhere that collects or links to multiple reviews of each current show?

PS. I'm really looking for reviews, but if you want to recommend a specific show, please note that I prefer classics to modern plays. And I really like classics when they're done withOUT any obvious conceptual twist (i.e. I DON'T want to see "Hamlet" set on the moon.)

Migraine Headaches

I'm looking for web resources on migranes -- multi-day, flat-on-your-back monsters, impervious to post-op-level codeine and other serious drugs, that leave you thinking (god forbid) about tumors and such. A friend's ongoing struggle with these is really starting to worry me, even though MRIs haven't shown anything. Of course, any personal stories and/or remedies are welcome as well. Thank you.

Dealing with Archives

I'm considering buying a domain, and setting up a personal site. This wouldn't be a problem, really, except that I've got over five years of content on my current personal site in various formats, and I don't want to repeat the mistakes of the past. Tips for building some sort of blogging application from scratch

I'm well and truly sick of hand-coding my website, and so it's about time I got myself some sort of blogging application. Because I'm a contrary type, though, I'd quite like to have a go at building it myself. What do you think - is there any point at all in my trying this? If there is, should I do it using PHP to edit an RSS file? And what features would you include if you were starting from scratch?
