Moodle questionnaire design

I've recently been involved in working on a project that includes an assessment tool, essentially a questionnaire created in Moodle. The client is having difficulty seeing past the bleakness of the pages without in graphical content so I'm now looking for a Moodle/Web designer. How can I find someone to work with me on this? Website question: Is this layout trick possible?

Silly question about CSS3 background images that change size to "cover" shifting dimensions. If you have an image that changes size while snipping off the sides to cover an area, is there a good way to predict its "cover" behavior, so that a piece of HTML text can follow right along with it, so as to fit over a certain spot on the image? Scroll Follow Box

I am a novice at html, but I have found code that I've used to create placeholders for images on the right side of my page that don't move when I scroll down. I want to hyperlink each of five images in that scroll follow box to a different audio file. Each audio file corresponds to one of five explanations grouped together on the left side of the page. There are dozens of five explanation groupings and the follow box helps users remember what the terms mean by clicking a close by box when they need to. I am using Serif WebX6 to build the website. And I've been referring to a book I have on .html. I found lots of code that uses .css or javascript, but I have no training with these, and when I pasted them in, the website didn't accept or run them. I do have a better understanding of .html though. And I have been able to move the box I made around, and create placeholders for my images, but no images. [more inside]

Help Me Pimp Their Site Please...

Doing some web design after being out of it a long time and my brain isn't in gear. I'm admittedly rusty and oblivious to the latest trends, codes and plugins for designing some of this basic stuff right now. Main goal: if I can make my client's dream site an awesome reality in a quick manner while remaining as lazy as possible, that would be fantastic! ;) [more inside]

Apologies in advance for the longwinded rambling to follow. [more inside]

Seeking understanding and tools I need to design a homepage that is a dynamic bar chart.

This weekend I'm setting up a website for an academic event. I'd like the homepage of the site to have large, clickable progress bars that display the number of posts for each of the subpages (News & Announcements, Blog, Events, etc.). As more posts are added to each of the subpages (posts would likely be sorted and displayed by category and tag), its respective progress bar takes up more screen real estate and the tally count listed on/near it increases. Basically, I want the homepage to look like a giant, dynamic bar chart. Is there a freeware (or cheap) template, widget or piece of code that allows me to do this? [more inside]

how do I build web pages people can annotate

I want to create a website which visitors can "annotate" with something more than a simple commenting system. Basically, I'm looking for Flickr's photo annotation capabilities, but for html documents instead of jpegs. My instincts say this could be accomplished with some fancy CSS and javascript, but I would prefer not to start from scratch if something already exists. Any ideas?

Javascript/CSS/IE

I'm having a javascript/CSS/IE problem. I'm working on a website that has a line of buttons at the top for navigation, and when you mouseover the button, a menu drops down giving you sub-options. This is controlled pretty simply with javascript changing the "visibility" attribute in the stylesheet for the menu. A problem arises in IE, however, when there are form elements on the page. If the dynamic drop-down menu overlaps a form element, that form element disappears. (Specifically, this is happening with a menu) You have to reload the page to get it back. Anyone know why this might be happening, or how to fix it? Works fine in NS7, Firefox, Mozilla, etc..... [more inside]
