New PHP project in the works that I'm going to us as an excuse to learn a new-to-me framework.
Kohana and
Laravel are at the top of my list, but is there anything else I should consider? The project will be relatively simple, so a microframework might also be appropriate.

Hello, brightminded and helpful mefi's.
I have an idea for (IMO) an awesome new website that I believe will be huge. Is it still feasible in this day and age for a person to buy a stack of books and learn the coding skills needed for a website with very robust features, to say the least? Or will I have to acquire the funding to hire the people to do this? Funding is non-existent at the point in time.

Doing some web design after being out of it a long time and my brain isn't in gear. I'm admittedly rusty and oblivious to the latest trends, codes and plugins for designing some of this basic stuff right now. Main goal: if I can make my client's dream site an awesome reality in a quick manner while remaining as lazy as possible, that would be fantastic! ;)

Javascript help: I am designing the layout for a portfolio website using the wonderful
CargoCollective. My client wants a specific layout, which I will need to use javascript to implement. But I have almost no javascript knowledge.
I need to search for a CSS tag, determine whether it has a certain value, and if it does apply a specific layout for that value.
Help much appreciated

I've made websites for myself - Now I'm going to be making them for others, and need to know the best way to code and test their sites prior to launching them on my client's domains.

I'm building a website in which part of the page remains static, and part of the page is swapped out using server side includes. Is there a way to do this that doesn't make the page jump up to the top when a link is clicked?

Looking for an existing script to do some data matching and suggesting. Sort of like a very simplified Netflix suggestion engine.
