I have a cheapo IP WiFi webcam, its video & audio feed is viewed via an ActiveX plugin in IE. I want to access theses feeds in Linux. I was wondering if there was some tool I could use in Win XP to monitor the network traffic on my PC when using IE to access the webcam, to get the full URLs to the audio and video feeds. All the tools I have used so far just give me the IP address and port, not the full http address.

I'm not usually paranoid but recently I have been - not because I've thought my boyfriend has been cheating, maybe it's been low self-esteem, but whatever, I've checked his phone messages a couple of times and it's all innocent. Today I looked on his laptop and I got my fingers burned.

After a few chatroulette connections that turned surprisingly erotic, my wife and I (on the cusp of our 40s) are interested in further exploring sexy webcam chats. We're looking for sites populated by people (ideally other couples, but singles are OK too) who are not teenagers, and who are inclined to be discreet (I realize there's no guarantee on that one, but sites with a culture of discretion would be nice). Pay sites are OK. Any suggestions? If you'd rather not post info here, feel free to send suggestions to throwaway830@gmail.com. Thanks!

In Snow Leopard, has Photo Booth been upgraded to utilize the full resolution of the iSight or external webcams? I want to do one of those DIY wedding photo booth deals, but my 10.5 version of Photo Booth limits resolution to 640x480. Alternatively: will any piece of software on the Mac let me capture a still image from my Logitech 9000 at its full 2MP resolution? I have searched in vain for webcam software that doesn't limit me to 640x480. Help!

A couple of years ago, my PhotoBooth app on my Mac was acting funky, so I trashed it. For some reason, I thought I could just go online and download a fresh version. That's proving difficult. Ultimately, I don't really care about downloading PhotoBooth. I just want to use my built-in webcam to take a picture of myself. Preferably high enough quality that I can make 2" by 2" passport photos. My webcam works fine (I use it for Skype, for example), but I can't seem to find a way to just take a damn picture of myself. And I don't want to pay for to download an application online. Hope me, hivemind.

What webcam or camcorder should I buy for my videocast?
I may run it as a youtube channel or as a vlog, but I want it to look and sound as good as possible. I intend to edit each episode with some yet to be determined video editing software and I am 90% sure I will be buying the
Samson C01U microphone (possibly the whole
podcasting pak).
Now I need a video recorder to match!

I set up a cam on my feeder in GA. It saves a pic every few minutes, and when I can, I post the interesting ones
here so my folks back in MA can check them out. (It's a long winter for them.)
I'm not exactly sure what
this one is. I was guessing a female red-winged blackbird, but it doesn't match exactly to sample pics I find online and nothing in my field guide looks like a closer match.
Can someone lend me their expertise?
Thanks!

I'm looking for a webcam setup for my technophobic mom who lives half a country away from me. She will be using it primarily to see and communicate with her grandchildren. Strangely for a technophobe, she works from home so she has reliable internet access but she is uncomfortable with complex installations and configurations.
I'm looking for make/model webcam recommendations and also any hints on other accessories she might need.

I just got a new webcam and the picture quality on MSN now rocks. However, when I take normal pics with dorgem, the pictures come out looking like something a VGA camera would take, rather than a clear crisp 5mp webcam. Would like suggestions for Windows webcam programs that will allow me to just take photos.
Note: I don't want a webcam program with motion detection, photo booth, etc. Just a simple one-click take-this-photo program. Many thanks in advance!
