I know there have lots of previous threads regarding time tracking and scheduler apps, but I have a specific need -- we have multiple locations and a huge complex with mobile employees. We need to be able to pull up the web page and see a list of the employees and their status (In/Out/Lunch/Off-Site), and a notes and/or pull-down section that specifies location.

I'm looking for a Web application that can track member contact information and meeting attendance for a user group. Nothing too fancy, but should be open source and run on a Linux server (perl|PHP|Java would be ideal).

My agency brought on a start-up MLM, and we need to provide software to manage the MLM salesforce, their downlines, commissions, etc. (Yeah, yeah... I know... ). In the past, for our normal clients, we've used SugarCRM to manage customers and the like. I'm wondering: can anyone recommend a good MLM management app — must have an internet interface.

Does the software I'm looking for exist? My family and I have dinner, potluck style, with a group of about 6 other families on a bi-weekly basis. Every week we have to do the same round of emails about what people are bringing for dinner etc... How do we automate it?

What web-based services for tracking want lists (or really arbitrary lists of things, though I'd probably use it most for books and bands) are there? I don't want something tied to a particular vendor. Simplicity and ease of use are paramount.

I am managing the production of a web application, which, for various reasons, must happen in a window with no status bar. Unfortunately, some security patch for ie6 with winxp sp2 renders the javascript that turns off the status bar ineffective. Any solutions?
