Looking for a network building/maintaining tool. Is there some sort of app (mac or web based) that will allow me to track how long it has been since talking to someone? Ideally I'd like to see one page with a horizontal bar graph with the number of days since last contact on the x-axis. So as the time between talking grows, the bar expands outwards. [more inside]

Probably a perennial question, but stuff changes. I'm looking for recommendations for a host for a non-pro photo site. I've used Fiickr, SmugMug, and ZenFolio. I'm after a host that allows me to muck about with design, CSS and HTML, etc., but doesn't compel mr to admin servers or worry about installing security updates remotely. I can admin a server, but, you know, life's too short. Shared host is probably the best bet, but I'd look at renting a slice of a managed server. Basically, I just wanna build a site that looks like i want, upload photos, and be done with it.
I have a sort of photo sharing website that breaks content up by category. There is not much text on the site, and we've been rejected by Google AdSense on that basis (not enough text). I'd like to find an ad network that will let me supply keywords (e.g., we have a gardening section, so we could sell space for gardening ads on those parts of the site) instead of scanning the site for them. Can anyone recommend an ad network that might do this?

We are a small company with 3 subdivisions, each with their own sub-domain: Main Website: www.widgets.com Sub Domain 1: things.widgets.com Sub Domain 2: stuff.widgets.com Sub Domain 3: morestuff.widgets.com Right now we can login to our webhost's control panel & admin our website. We are wondering if there's a web host out there that would give us a separate control panel for each subdomain so that the head of each division can admin his own subdomain?
I'm a solo UI designer for an ad agency & I'm looking for good website or blogs that'll inspire me to make cool & effective user interfaces. Individual websites are cool & all ,but what I'm really looking for are sites like TheFWA or SmashingMagazine that curate cool designs. Bonus points for sites that look at e-commerce websites. I run a small website for a sport I enjoy and am passionate about - traffic is good (at least I'm happy) and in the last few weeks I've been starting to get some press coverage. All good so far... A PR company have asked me to submit a 'media pack' - I have no idea what that is, or what might be included in there - I have asked the contact, but I'm thinking I should try and get ahead of the game. I'm writing a paper on (animated) GIFs and am trying to track down some of the most (in)famous. I suppose I am talking memes, but I'm more interested in the GIF as an archaeological reference point. I frequent sites like dump.fm, tumblr etc. so am quite tuned in to the glitchy/kitschy side of GIF culture. How theoretical have people got on these wonders of the web? How does one trace the history of an animated GIF? [more inside]
I'm looking for a web collaboration tool to schedule volunteers. I think a spreadsheet would work best, but I could manage with a document as well. There will be about 5-10 of us that will have editing abilities. The most important part: I don't want them to have to create an account to edit the document. They should be able to edit by just clicking the unique link that I send them via email. I don't mind creating an account myself. Does anyone have an idea for a tool that would work in this situation? Bonus points if we can view/edit on iPhone and Android. Thanks!

What is the most interesting fine visual art that has been made for the web? I am especially interested in experimental stuff that could never exist as a conventional painting or sculpture, and which can only be experienced online. Any examples appreciated!
I built and maintain a fairly basic website for my daughter's nursery school, and I need to know the simplest way to integrate a blog feature (to be utilized by the teachers), as well as a way to allow the school's director to make updates from time to time to a particular page of content without having to teach any of them how to use Dreamweaver CS4 (this is key), which I use to maintain the site. I am by my own admission more of a designer than a coder (the technical stuff is not my strong suit), and on top of this I have a pretty limited time frame in which to accomplish this. Other than hiring someone else to do it for me, can anyone offer suggestions? I thought about using Wordpress - either integrating it into the site as is, or starting over and rebuilding the site in Wordpress. But I haven't come to any conclusions yet (obviously!).
