What is the most interesting fine visual art that has been made for the web? I am especially interested in experimental stuff that could never exist as a conventional painting or sculpture, and which can only be experienced online. Any examples appreciated!

I built and maintain a fairly basic website for my daughter's nursery school, and I need to know the simplest way to integrate a blog feature (to be utilized by the teachers), as well as a way to allow the school's director to make updates from time to time to a particular page of content without having to teach any of them how to use Dreamweaver CS4 (this is key), which I use to maintain the site. I am by my own admission more of a designer than a coder (the technical stuff is not my strong suit), and on top of this I have a pretty limited time frame in which to accomplish this. Other than hiring someone else to do it for me, can anyone offer suggestions? I thought about using Wordpress - either integrating it into the site as is, or starting over and rebuilding the site in Wordpress. But I haven't come to any conclusions yet (obviously!).

I am putting together a proposal for my English class. It proposes that cameras should be required in meat processing plants all along the "dissemble" line, and broadcast "to the public somehow," (probably via web-feed or something) . Is there such a thing, in any law, in any jurisdiction (even outside of the U.S.)?

I'd like to be able to embed a grid of thumbnails of products either scraped by search terms or manually entered - products from, ideally, multiple sites with affiliate programs, but barring that just Amazon would do - onto a web page.

I have tried Elgg and BuddyPress, but those solutions just don't seem to work very well, mostly because of issues with the templates.
I want to develop an online community that is based around my online radio station.
The community should have forums, chat, galleries, user search, comments, walls, and
all the other basic stuff that comes with an online community. It needs to be completely graphically customisable
I'm looking for the best solution that is under $600, but preferable free.

What IDEs, editors, or general tools do people use to do web development? I'm a linux geek, so my tool of choice is gVim. But I'm teaching a course on this right now and don't want to inflict my prejudices on the students, and I'd like a broader perspective. So if you're a web developer, what do you use? NetBeans, Notepad? Something in-between?

I was looking at the
webpage for a sci-fi webcomic called Drive, and I noticed that the web designer had included a modified version of the RSS icon that meshed very nicely with the feel of the webpage. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed any other websites that had similarly jazzed up (or down, I guess) the RSS icon to better fit their page. To be clear, I'm not just looking for fancy versions of the icon (Google image search turns up hundreds of those), but instances of altered icons being
used well in actual webpages.
