Is my wifi router blocking images from Facebook?

I recently replaced a couple of old LinkSys WRT54G routers running DD-WRT in my home with a couple of couple of D-Link DIR-615 routers that I got as refurbs from woot.com. I bought these because the old machines only did 802.11 B/G whereas nearly everyone in the house now has a device that has 802.11 N capability. All seems well to me, but my wife and younger daughter consistently complain that they now frequently are unable to display some images from Facebook, and that this began to occur precisely at the time that I put these new routers in. Can I make the web have pages? No, really!

Monthly subscription from extabit.com

A year and three months ago I registered on extabit.com. And I got a month service and I paid for it.
I just realized they have been charging me on my paypal account monthly since then.
But autopayment did not go through. So I owe them about 200 dollars now. I have never used the account after the first month.
Do I have to pay for it?
I want to complaint but I don't know how to reach to them either.

Thank you guys so much!

Changing the state setting in Google Scholar

I use Google Scholar to look for court cases. For some reason, for the last few months the options at the bottom of the search box have been as shown in the extended area. It used to be that the last entry would be "Michigan courts," as that is where I live. But the choice now is always "California courts." Even if I take the several (annoying) steps needed to select Michigan courts, it defaults back to California courts the next time. Does anyone know how this behavior can be changed? [more inside]

Is there anywhere decent to look for freelance web work?

I'm a frontend web developer with quite a long resume. I work full-time but I'd like to pick up some freelance, remote work in my spare time. I'm wondering if there are any places to look besides my personal network, Craigslist, and those awful "Rent-a-coder" sites where you get underbid by overseas folks who'll do it for $9/hr. What are the best web development companies to work for in Toronto?

I'm a front-end web developer (HTML, CSS, jQuery) just starting out. I have a good portfolio from doing work for friends and a few businesses. I'm self-taught and therefore lacking some of the confidence that comes with the feedback you get in a structured learning environment or working tightly with other developers. I want to get in with a web development company/agency that has a great work environment. What would you say are the best web dev companies in Toronto in terms of great work/life balance, great (bright, comfortable) office space, and mentorship/on-going learning opportunities? (Opportunities to work abroad with the company would also be welcome!). Thanks for the info!

Google Web Fonts are rendering horribly on my Firefox/Chrome browsers?

I apparently have bad or damaged Google Web Fonts installed on a Windows 7 machine. Fun fact, they are not in the Windows Fonts directory. Examples of websites that display pairs of items side-by-side?

I am designing a website for a set of museum exhibits. The curator designed the museum panels so two items are displayed on each panel and the viewer experiences them in each other's context. A crowdsourced poll repository?

A political pollster called me last night with three questions and afterward I wondered if there is a site that lets people who receive these calls enter as much information as they can about the questions and the organization asking them. Presumably such a site would be searchable and also yield useful metadata about the types of questions being asked and polling organizations themselves. My google-fu fails me. Do you know of any sites that are to what I describe?

Best way to recruit web developers?

Need to find and completely remove all hyperlinks/URL's from a Word doc

I have a 100-page Word document full of miscellaneous content from different websites. Unfortunately, after each section taken from a website, there's basically a citation for where the content was taken from that contains the URL for the website. I need to find a way to find all these hyperlinks and delete them completely from my document. They're all from different websites, so really, the only commonality is the "http://" part.

What are the best cities to launch a freelance career (cost of living)?
