We have no water pressure and may be without it for some time, which makes showering difficult. What can we do about this? By which I mean (a) what can we do to get our water pressure back, and, in the meantime, (b) what are some tips and tricks to keeping clean without a working shower? [more inside]

Why, when going deep underwater, does the air in your lungs compress? I'm pretty sure we learned this in 5th grade...yet...I got nothing. [more inside]

We hooked up a clothes washer in our new condo, but my wife remembers the original home inspection indicating that the water pressure was too high for the washer, and that we would need to adjust it first before first using it. [more inside]

Is my home's water pressure (90 psi) too high?
90 year old house with mostly PVC piping.
In prep for a replacement hot water heater I measured the water pressure by the washing machine. The pressure gauge showed 90 psi, which seems high. How much of an issue is this?
