My porcelain sink (and tub) have a problem

We have very hard water and it has a tendancy to stain stuff pretty quickly. The area of the sink and the tub just below the faucets are an endless battle. The only thing that has ever been able to get those stains out has been bleach, but now the bleach has only made things worse because they stain even MORE quickly. It really looks terrible. Help me fix my sink and tub so that we don't look like Grubby McSlobbersons. [more inside]

Advice on water damage, flood, cleanup and insurance.

Our finished basement flooded thanks to a backed up sink and the iron filter discharge running. As far as we've been able to discern, our insurance does cover this. We've had a cleanup crew sent out by the insurance company. However, I've got some concerns on how it's being handled, specifically that not enough and not enough of the right work is being done. Keep Water Off My Bathroom Counter

The counter for my bathroom sink sits below the level of the counter (picture). When the water is turned off, or the soap dispenser used, water dripping off hands gets all over the counter and eventually runs to the edge of the counter onto the floor. I want this to stop. The fix for the faucet is to find a new faucet. But I'm not sure what to do about the soap dispenser. [more inside]

Water pitcher won't fit in our sink

I recently saw an ad for a water filter pitcher that has a little hose stored in the handle that attaches to the water tap. Can anyone tell me who makes this product? The only source of water in my office is a small sink in the washroom, and it is not deep enough to fit a water pitcher into. I'm thinking this hose-attached pitcher could be the answer to our hydration needs. Other ideas on how to supply clean drinking water to my staff are welcome.

Where should we install our water filter?

We got a new under the sink water filter and are trying to decide where to put it. Our stainless steel sink is set into the granite, so no free holes to sneak the faucet into - we'll have to drill a hole in the granite. Where on the granite do we install it? [more inside]
