Can anybody identify this digital watch? This is coming from memory, but it was a black, Databank-like watch with an amber-colored illuminator. [more inside]

how are jewelry brand watches (e.g. Cartier, Boucheron, Harry Winston) regarded among watch enthusiasts? Is it the same as 'designer' watches in that they're not taken seriously?

Calendar math question: today is March 25, 2011. I found my old watch in a drawer and the time is still correct, but the watch date window says 13. Assuming the date window repeats 1 to 31 and that I always 'set' my watch correctly, what was the most recent month and year that I could have worn it? [more inside]

What is this
? I've had it hanging on my wall for a year or two. It was found on the sand below the water line at the Fire Island National Seashore/Wilderness. It's lightweight and friable, like a sea creature. It's 24 cm (9.4 inches) long by 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide. 24 cm is 1.7 monkey skulls, if that helps.

Anyone know about 'Balmain' watches? I'm trying to figure out what price range this might have been bought at last year, I don't have a model number and the manual just says "ETA G15.211" which I think is the internal quartz movement. image [more inside]

[London Shopping Filter] I'd like to buy an expensive watch in the New Year. Budget is up to £2,500 so I'm looking for advice on the best places to browse a wide range of makes and models and then (once I've picked something) the best place to buy it. [more inside]

What is the best moderately priced watch (under $100) you know of? My husband is starting EMT training and needs a good, reliable and durable watch. One with a second hand of course. Any recommendations?

I'm a girl but I like mechanical chronographs & the like, e.g. the Swiss Army collection. Sadly I don't have $500. What are your favorite watches (mens or non-girlie womens) for under $150?

Looking to purchase a handful of reasonably-priced ($100) pocket watches, but would like to see/check them out first, so am hesitant to use eBay. I really like old Molnija watches
but I don't see anyway I could get a handful in the next couple of weeks. I also like the Swiss Army pocket watches but don't like that they are close to $200 and don't have plated covers. Where is a good place to go check out some pocket watches (western and central Pennsylvania if possible)? Are they even sold in stores or does one absolutely have to get something like that online? If finding such things in a short window (must be purchased in next week and a half) is going to be an incredibly low-probability event, then does the hive mind have suggestions for other interesting and semi-permanent gifts for men?

I need to make some quick cash and intend to sell a watch that sold for about £400 in the UK five years ago. Does anyone know of a reputable place in NYC that I could go to? There are so many choices out there my head is spinning :) I have never sold a piece of jewelry before so any specific suggestions would be welcome. Or would posting on eBay be a better choice?
Thanks in advance.

Looking for a discreet audio recording device (not one of the typical voice memo recording sticks you get at radio shack, this must be discreet). I am a public speaker at my company and I typically speak at multiple meetings per day, with no time to take notes for follow-up questions.
I need a stand-alone audio recorder that is discreet (wrist watch, pen, etc.) and that can handle at least 8 hours of recording on 1 charge / 1 set of batteries. [more inside]
