We need your knowledge and opinions on the best formal, conservative women's outfits that look expensive and include a jacket (mandatory) or suit. Bonus for any tips on where to buy in the Maryland/DC/Northern Virginia area.

I'm helping plan a gay couple's bachelor party that is happening TONIGHT, and the male strippers
just cancelled on us. Ugh. I know that the couple will be disappointed if there's no nudity involved in the shenanigans tonight. We were hoping to not have to go to a strip club, but rather have the strippers come to a house in the 'burbs. Help me find 1 or 2 gay friendly male strippers in the D.C. metro area

How does one find an apartment with a roommate in a different state? I am moving to the Wash-DC area, and I need to find a place to live. I've never been there, I don't know anyone there, and I will not be going there before my relocation. What's the best way to handle this situation?

The management company at our apartment building just discovered that they had not been charging us for parking 10 months into our lease. We had been paying the rent amount and the parking amount for the first two months, but kept getting overpayment notices telling us to reduce our monthly payment, so I thought our number was in error. Now they want all 10 months paid back though they admit the error was on their end. Are we liable for the back fees even though we were told by them to lower our monthly payment? This is in Washington, DC.

Do you know of any booksellers in the Washington, DC area that sell Arabic books? I'm looking for shops that sell fairly current novels and nonfiction written in the Arabic language. Also, it would be nice if it was accessible by public transport. Thanks.

I might be relocating to Washington DC. I've visited a few times as a tourist but I know nothing about what life is like there. I've found a few discussions in the archive about moving to DC, but they seem to be written for someone who is trying to figure out where to move to. But I'm not at that point yet. I'm mainly trying to get a sense of what DC life is like for someone whose career is not in politics. Really what I want is a description of life in DC that uses NYC as a frame of reference, comparing neighborhoods, transportation, dining, night life, etc.

I'm moving to Washington, DC for a new job that is a huge step up for me. I'd like to have a studio apartment lined up for January 1st and I will have a week to intensively look for a place before my job starts on Dec. 21st. What are some neighborhoods, tips and resources what would be helpful for me to find my perfect place in such a short turn around? My main goal is super convenient car-free living and commuting.

I've been in DC for a few years. In many ways, this can be a really transient city. Since I'm here for the long-haul for work, I'm interested in meeting people who don't see DC as a pit stop, and aren't going to move again in a few years.

Moving to DC, looking to rent in Tenleytown or Georgetown. But, I'm having a hard time finding good "house" rental listings. Ideally, we're looking for 4 bedrooms (3 plus an office of some sort), close to metro, some kind of yard would be nice.
We're looking to keep it under $4k per month. Starting in June and we're here at least 2 years.
Any thoughts of where there might be some good listings (besides Craigslist), or if you know of a good one for rent that might fit, let me know.
Thanks!

I'm looking for extremely primitive beach camping sites (preferably on the Chesapeake) in the DC/MD/VA area. I'm talking about places with no running water, no bathrooms, nothing but nature for miles around.
Assateague Island's backcountry camping sites are a perfect example of what I'm looking for. Any suggestions? Thanks!
