Wallet Chain

WalletChainFilter:Im looking for a very heavy duty thick worn in looking chain for my wallet. The one that came with it is just like every other cheap rinky dink chain. Anyone know where i can find one? Ive looked everywhere! Just to be clear this is what i have now and is NOT what im looking for. Thanks!!

Non-bendy card-safe wallet?

Another wallet question! I have a problem with my credit cards breaking: after about six months they snap along the top. This is getting expensive since I have to pay to replace the cards.

I'm looking for a wallet, leather preferably, that will prevent the cards from bending. I realise these two wants might be mutually exclusive. The wallet lives in my jeans.

From previous questions, I've seen the ACM wallet, which seems very thick and looks a little chunky, and the jimi wallet which seems to be a lot better: except I have to fold up the money, and it only takes 4 cards (I need 8).

I'm looking for something that looks like a wallet, but protects the cards from bending. I'd like to be able to see which card is which too if possible.

I really like the look of David Allen NoteTaker wallet, the only downside being I can't afford the $80 price tag. Are their any similar wallets out there without the high price tag?

girl needs her nice leather...case

Can you help a fashionable girl find a nice leather wallet-style iphone case? I'm looking for a leather iPhone case, something like this Sena case but more stylish and/or funky and/or sophisticated...essentially I want something more fashionable and higher quality that this. I would like this to be a kind of clutch purse in which I can put a small amount of cash and 2-3 cards. I like the style of acme made but they don't make iPhone cases.

Online would be good but I'm in NYC so if you have any stores to to suggest here that would be great too. Any recommendations?

High design bikers wallet / keychain

My girlfriend keeps losing her wallet & keys (separately). I want to buy her a biker's wallet & have her clip it to her purse & get one of those springy cord tie keychains.

What are some high design/fashionable versions of these, preferably with a big honking chain attached, but rather a nice, modern, sleek cable.

(PS - tip for NYers - use your digital camera to take a photo of the cabbie's license every time you get into a cab - it'll expedite the process of finding your stuff. Just call 311 & they'll connect you to the TLC.)

Letter Wallet Envelope

Looking for the brand name of a wallet that was featured in glossy high fashion magazines such as Vogue probably over a year ago. Basically a wallet/pouch made of leather with gold printing of either a postcard, letter, or mailing address on the outside of the wallet/pouch thing. I'm tired of cheap wallets falling apart, and this from over a year ago is still in my mind. I've tried googling but failed.

What's the best way to carry all my stuff outside when I work out?

What's the best way to carry keys, water, mp3 player, and wallet when you're working out outside? Do you have a favorite fanny pack (how...not chic) or have you come up with some alternative arrangement? Would you please share? I've decided to try to run around Philadelphia and start exercising outside. Except I keep my wallet and keys and phone and iPod in my pocket -- and carry my water -- and everything jangles about like a bell ringer at Christmas.

I was wondering if there's a brand of belt pack or backpack that works especially well with people doing things like running, skipping, and running stairs. The belt packs I encounter on the street are particularly hideous -- and I'm looking for practical, not aesthetic -- but I'm not even sure those belt packs stay put should their owners decide to race around a track.

So...how do you secure your stuff? Thank you.

What's a nice card wallet?

I'm looking for a handsome credit card case. I recently swapped my wallet for a money clip. I love it, but now my various cards have no home. Between credit cards, library cards, insurance and dental cards, business cards, and buy-9-burritos-get-one-free cards, I need a case or a wallet meant for a dozen or more cards instead of currency. It should be stylish (because I care about that sort of thing) and rugged (because this will live at the bottom of my bag.) Suggestions?

Will I be allowed to get on the plane with my wallet chain? I'm flying to London, England this week on my way to Holland. This is my first international flight. Will I be allowed to get on the plane with my wallet chain? I've searched google but I can't find any specific mention of a wallet chain being prohibited. That said I imagine that it probably is.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Also will it be a problem to have a pair of drum sticks in my carry on? I'm not checking any luggage so that solution won't work. I really want to avoid any problems at customs.
How to to offer as a reward for returing a wallet?

I lost my wallet yesterday and received a call from a man who found it and we're arranging for its return. Should I offer him a reward? How much? So I drove away from a parking lot with my wallet on the roof of my car. Went back 5 minutes later, retracing my route and couldn't find it. I canceled the 2 credit cards immediately and wasn't too upset about the whole thing. I don't think there's much cash in it and the wallet itself wasn't too valuable. So then I got a call from my doctor's office today saying someone called their office about my wallet. The guy who found it used the only thing in it with a phone number (my insurance card) to call my doctor's office and have them relay his number to me. So I called and yep, he has it. He even knew what my car looks like 'cause he saw me drive off and tried to get my attention by honking his horn but I must not have heard him. He was only here for the day but will be back in town next week and has offered to meet me somewhere to give it back to me. This is all super super nice of him. He went to some effort to track me down and will probably have to take some time out of his day to meet me. I'd like to offer him a reward but have no idea what's appropriate. My initial thought is that I'll offer him $20, does that sound fair?

Where can I find a classy-looking, ultra-slim wallet?

What is your favorite slim, classy-looking wallet for men? I'm looking for a wallet that looks professional (maybe black or brown leather), and is also very compact. I've looked at the Slimmy but it seems almost too compact, and I'd be worried everything would fall out. Are there any wonders of wallet engineering out there that allow for a reasonable amount of cards and cash without creating a three-inch brick? I have looked at the All-Ett as well, and am shying away because it's not all leather--the internal part is still the nylon cloth. Also, I have read about problems with credit cards falling out of the pockets if you don't stuff them full.

This is a present, hence the anonymity. I have read the other threads on the topic and looked at wallets online, but I'm worried the wallet won't be as slim as I'm looking for. I've read that European wallet-makers tend to have more ingenious designs. Has this been anyone's experience? What wallet allowed you to transition from a thick wallet that wore holes in your pants if you sat on it, to a wallet you forgot to take out of your pocket?

All this talk about wallets....

Christmas Gift Filter: I am looking for a leather wristlet for my sister and can't find exactly what I want. I am looking for a leather wristlet that is large enough to hold keys, a cell phone and all wallet-related materials (drivers license, cards, cash...) for a Christmas gift for my 20 year old sister. She likes this but is more interested in leather than cloth (she's pretty hard on her stuff and is looking for something more durable). I like that the one linked has all of the wallet slots inside but also has enough space for keys and a phone. I haven't been able to find it in leather and am really not sure where to look....Shopping isn't really my strong suit. As a last resort, I would probably commission someone on etsy to make it for me, but would rather buy it already made so that I can see what it looks like first. For the absolute right thing, I am probably ok with spending about $100 but would obviously love to pay less.

Where can I find a pantone wallet or something similar? I cannot find anywhere to purchase them online, so i'm thinking they were discontinued. Does anyone know where I could purchase one of these wallets or recommend a similar wallet? I'm really into vibrant colors!
Where do I find a black leather bifold wallet with card slots inside and out, and a zippered change compartment?

I want to find a replacement for a men's Gucci wallet from the late 90's - either the same wallet (new or hardly used, ideally) or one with all the same "features". Can you help me find one, or if not, find out how to find it online or at a store in New York? I can't find the style at Gucci or similar ones at dozens of department stores.

I don't really know "wallet vocabulary" (translations welcome), but here's a shot at a description: it was made of black leather, and bi-fold. When you open the wallet and lay it on a table in front of you, it is configured like an envelope for the money (the cash-compartment is accessed from the top and runs the length of the wallet.) On the front surface of the 'envelope' is a zippered change/condom container on the left, and slots for credit cards on the right. When you close it, one side has a thin slot for another card or two.

Is there anything (serial #) that if I were to look closely at the original wallet, I could use to identify the model? (This is a gift, so it may be tricky to get my hands on the original.)

I am willing to spend a lot of money (up to $1000), so custom made is a possibility -- does anyone in the NY area make custom leather wallets?

Medical wallet card summary thing - is there one? Hi folks,

Looking for a handy medical wallet card summary thingy for a family member with a lot of medications - something small enough to fit into a purse (doesn't have to be wallet sized). I'm aware of the Pocket Doc , which is great but doesn't have much space to write lots of medications down, and I want to put a list of her doctors as well.

Anyone aware of a product I can buy, or a template online that I can fill out I can whip one up in Illustrator?

Thanks! My Googlefu failed me and needs some coffee apparently.

How to clean a leather wallet?

Asking for friend: How do I clean a yellow Fossil leather wallet that is starting to turn brown from use? I have a leather wallet I purchased from Fossil a few months ago. It is a women's wallet, made of a soft leather that I assume has been dyed yellow. When I bought it, the yellow was a bright yellow, but after a few months of use, it's beginning to turn brown/grey from what I guess is dirt. It also seems to be picking up a bit of the colour from my jeans. Here's a link to a similar wallet.

When I used a normal leather cleaner on it, the colour changed from yellow to an orange-ish yellow, as if the yellow pigment was being washed away and the natural brown of the leather was showing through. That kind of scared me away from trying other kinds of leather cleaners. There aren't really many inconspicuous spots on the wallet to test on either.

Any suggestions on how I can return my wallet to its original clean colour, and also any regular maintenance tips?

clear. hard. plastic. case.

Where can I find a clear hard plastic credit card case? My wallet was stolen last night, and rather than lamenting my ID or my bus pass, I am lamenting the wallet itself: a clear hard plastic credit/business card case, constructed like an audio cassette case but hinged on the short end.

It held about six or seven cards, which minimalism I like. I'd previously had the Jimi, but this was even better. I acquired it from my ex, so its provenance is unknown and I'm not in a position to track it down.

I'm sure that wherever I find this, it'll be like $1.50. I just can't find anything like it on the Internet. I'm in San Francisco, if that makes a difference.

One key, one wallet, one problem: how?

How do I securely carry a single key in my wallet? I've started carrying a single housekey in my wallet because my keychain is overladen with keys that it won't fit in any of my pockets without stabbing me or looking like a tumor. However, since the key is loose in the wallet pocket, it has a tendency to move around, and several times it has fallen out when I open my wallet, so far I haven't lost it, but it's bad enough when it happens.

Is there any way of securing the housekey in the wallet? I remember that there were some emergency car keys which were embedded into a plastic card, and it could be popped out: is there something similar for a generic housekey? Like a card-size object that holds one key, easily removable but secure?

I've spent a lot of time slimming down my wallet (made out of tyvek, only four cards carried) so carrying something like a dedicated key wallet would add an unnecessary amount of bulk.

Help me replace my wallet

I need a new wallet, but I want one exactly the same as my current one, or better. Firstly, if this can't be done, que sera sera, when it actually falls apart I'll just replace it with another kind and then in ten years' time I'll be asking the same question again. :) But I would like to at least attempt to replace my current wallet with an exact, but new, replica. (Or at least one with the same sort of layout.)

Are there technical names for different styles of wallet, as with shoes, glasses, etc? If so, can anyone identify the style of wallet this might be? I realize it's a bit of an ask without pics, but I'm hoping my verbal descriptive skills are up to the task.

My wallet is black, and made of some sturdy leather-like substance. It looks like a small folder, or book, where the pages of the book are replaced by a series of "card-holding sleeves". (In this case 6, but more is better). Each card-holding sleeve is a translucent plastic envelope, closed on three sides, open inwards, like a pocket or an open envelope with the flap attached to the spine of the wallet. Inside the left "cover" of the wallet is a sturdier envelope made out of the black leathery stuff, internally divided into two layers (ie, cards can be put above and below the divider). Inside the right cover is another such envelope, and above it is a flap that folds open to reveal a money clip to hold banknotes.

Currently it's absolutely stuffed with cards of various kinds, and the translucent plastic envelopes have all busted on all sides and are held together mostly with sticky tape. Occasionally these fall apart again, and cards fall out, leading to a need to re-tape the envelopes. The black leathery stuff is in good repair. However because of the condition of the envelopes it looks shabby, and needs replacing.

In my searches I have found wallets with card-holding sleeves, and wallets with money clips, but never both. I vaguely recall buying the wallet at a gift shop somewhere; sadly, I lacked the foresight at the time to buy a half-dozen of them.

Alternatively, a recommendation for a better style of wallet would be good. The main design principle is lots of card space, at least twice as much as the "standard" men's wallet, preferably in the sort of holders where it's possible to easily see at least one of the cards, so I don't have to search too long to find cards I only use occasionally; preferably these holders should be more sturdy than plastic envelopes. As far as money is concerned I'm only wanting to keep notes in the wallet itself, I normally keep coins in my other pocket with my keys. I keep it in the front right-hand pocket of my jeans, and would prefer to continue to do so; being a person prone to losing stuff, I like a substantial wallet that I will instantly notice if it is gone.

I figure once I have a style of wallet to ask for, I can go up the chain from the shops to the manufacturers and importers, and maybe back down to shops again.

Pocket organization

How do the guys here creatively and efficiently organize their pockets to carry the three essentials: cell phone, keys, and wallet? Current system:
Front left pocket: cell phone
Front right pocket: keys
Back right pocket: wallet

This reorganization is occurring because my current wallet is falling apart. I am thinking about switching to a slim front-pocket wallet because I am dissatisfied with carrying my wallet in my back pocket. This would probably mean the front right pocket shares the keys AND wallet. I am also thinking about minimizing my key situation by using only a ring and the 3 keys I need at all times. The slim front-pocket wallet AND minimal keys still seems a bit much to carry in one pocket and might create an annoying situation when I need either my keys or my wallet and would require the removal of both at once.

How do you carry your stuff? Are you satisfied with your pocket situation? Any creative pocket organization solutions?

Leather Wallet Care: How do I stop the breakdown of my wallet?

Leather Wallet Care: How do I stop the breakdown of my wallet? My wife bought me an authentic Louis Vuitton wallet for my birthday last year. I am not normally flashy (generally a blue jean white t-shirt kind of guy), however, I really like this wallet and would like to have it for a long time.

The issue is the wallet is starting to crack and break apart on the top and bottom corners of the fold. I live in Utah and it is very dry here. I assume these wallets should have a long life if properly taken care of.

My question is, how do I properly take care of this wallet and stop it from continual degradation?

Thanks!

I have no identity! How do I use my bank and take a flight?

I've lost my wallet and passport and I need to get money and fly this weekend, help! I recently moved to NYC and the other day lost my wallet and passport (long story). This means I don't have my debit card, credit card, license or any form of photo ID. The only thing I do have is a checkbook, which is pretty much worthless in NYC. To make matters worse, I still had a Nevada license, which I imagine will complicate trying to get a NY one.

So, my two main problems. I only have $4 to my name right now. I know I can borrow cash from friends, but is there any way for me to get money otherwise? I have an account at Washington Mutual, but without my card or an ID, can I possibly take out money?

The second, and more important problem. I'm in a wedding (my cousin's) in Minneapolis on Saturday, meaning I have a flight on Friday night from LGA to MSP on Northwest. I've read a few things about flying without an ID, but they don't sound entirely pleasant and I really don't want to risk missing a wedding that I am IN.

Any help would be absolutely amazing. I guess, if nothing else, I can try to get a copy of my birth certificate FedExed to me and hopefully at least get a state ID by Friday, but if anybody has any better ideas, I'd love to hear them.

BusinessCardFilter: I'm looking for something convenient that will keep a small number of business cards tidy - inside my wallet. I'm in increasingly more situations where not having a business card either looks unprofessional, or leads to a missed opportunity. I went out and bought a metallic holder that after a couple of days of use, has turned out to be of extremely low quality, does not fit in my wallet, and is gaudy beyond reasonable limits. I'm in my twenties and looking for something, well, discrete, but modern. Not a conversation-starter, necessarily.

But the more pressing issue would be, is there any way to keep my business cards straight without adding more junk into my pocket? Any ideas are much appreciated.
