What is the atmosphere of Midtown in Houston at night? Would someone with a small frame who doesn't know karate feel safe walking their dog before bedtime there?

Please tell me how I could have handled this situation better.
I unintentionally got into an argument with a dog-walker at the park where I was conducting a running training session. I thought I handled the situation to the best of my ability, but my trainee told me that she thought I hadn't. So I wanted to ask your advice on how to deal with the same situation if it arose again.

Several dog walking services in my area of San Diego offer a range of services and prices, and I'd like to get a sense of what others considerable reasonable, and what services, if anything, people find worth the money for besides just the walking itself. In terms of pooch specifics, my obese italian greyhound needs a longer, more vigorous walk each afternoon/evening than I can make time for given my current work schedule. thanks

I'm a dog walker in NYC and despite having stated that dogwalking is not a substitute for overnight care in the service agreement that I make owners sign, a customer is using 2 x 10 minute dog walks a day as care for her dog while she has been away for two nights.
