VPN possibilities?

We've cut the cable cord, but sorely miss big sporting events. Watched world cup through round of 16 on univision, then signed up for VPN to continue watching via CBC.ca. Would like to catch FIBA tournament, champions league, etc., but tough to track these things down. [more inside]

Great firewall, 2014

Hi, Looks like I will be spending a good while in China and I'd love to read your recent experiences with VPNs, general internet use there. (I noted a question about this from almost two years ago, with lots of people speaking well of witopia, can believe things have changed.) I'll be in Chongqing, for what that's worth. Thank you for taking a moment to help me.

How do I route everything except a few ports out a VPN?

I've got a VPS. If I set up a VPN connection from it to a VPN provider in NL, everything goes through the VPN, but that means I can't SSH to the machine anymore. How do I set this up such that the VPS is listening at its regular IP on SSH, HTTP, and HTTPS, but everything else goes through the VPN? [more inside]

Streaming Netflix abroad?

My family and I are going to be out of the country for the next month, and we'd really like to watch the new season of House of Cards when it premiers on Valentines day. Does anybody have any advice on how to do this? Right now, I'm planning to get a TP-LINK TL-MR3020 router, install OpenWRT (and OpenVPN?) on it to configure it to access a States-side VPN, and stream Netflix to a Chromecast in our hotel room. Will this work? [more inside]

VPN: sonicwall TZ170 and DD-WRT?

Office A has a TZ170, presently configured for VPN through sonicwall's desktop client software. Offices B and C have routers running DD-WRT. Can the DDWRT routers (with both OpenVPN and PPTP clients) provide an always on VPN back to office A? Might this be accomplished by creating a new VPN policy specifically for them in the TZ170? Alternately, could I replace the TZ170 with a new DDWRT, functioning not as router but only as gateway, VPN and firewall?
