Most of a Sunday "stuck" in San Diego - what should I do?

Next month I have a 10:30pm flight out of San Diego and all my mates are leaving in the morning. What lovely fun thing could I do that I could only do there? Or, never mind me, what would you do if you just had 12 hours in San Diego? [more inside]

One week, one small home, two families. Help an irritable introvert cope?

Husband's family is coming to town, yay! They're asking if we can put them up for a week, eek! Small home, two bedrooms, four adults, three children. I'm an introvert and homebody in the extreme; have anxiety and, lately, irritability issues; and I don't know if or how I can cope with this. Help me make this possible. [more inside]

Hospital Visits Can Be Fun, Right?

My girlfriend is going to be spending the next week in hospital- nothing too serious, but definitely a little frightening!- and I want to spend a lot of time hanging out with her, looking after her and making a boring time a little bit fun. What to do in Baltimore (Inner Harbor) in late September?

I am looking for things to do that are unique to Baltimore, preferably walking distance (or public transportation accessible) from the Inner Harbor area. I like weird, kitschy, gothic, silly stuff. I enjoy the works of Edgar Allan Poe and John Waters. I have no dietary restrictions so bring on the food recommendations. I already plan to visit the American Visionary Art Museum and grab food at Cafe Hon and Helmands. Anything else off-the beaten path? [more inside]

I can already smell the bay air...

The wife and I are heading to San Francisco for a conference this weekend taking place at the Embarcadero Hyatt. My question is a two-parter: (a) Where in the vicinity should we go for breakfast, lunch etc. on our relatively-short breaks? and (b) After things wind down for the day, where should we explore? More criteria to follow. [more inside]

I've seen the Bridge.

Get Me Out Of My Travel Rut: My tour takes me to the beatific city of San Fransisco soon and while I visit about once a year, I usually end up going to same places/doing the same things. What's terribly new in SF? What are the fresh must-see shows, restaurants, nightspots, stores, or Things To Do. Ideally I'm looking for things/places that have opened within the year. Will have a car and able to make day trips out into the environs. [more inside]

What to do at night in Monterey & San Francisco?

Visiting San Francisco & Monterey this weekend with the boyfriend. We have lots of plans during the daytime – Big Sur, Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods, etc. – but nothing planned for the evenings..oops! Please recommend some fun and romantic evening activities for San Francisco & Monterey. We aren't interested in bars or clubs, and we'll have a car. (P.S. - two goals for this trip are to find the best San Fran-style burrito and dungeoness crab.) [more inside]
