What are the common form of Computer Virus spread these days? I remeber back in the day it was all about Word macros, then Outlook attachmets auto-running, but therse days is it all Internet Browser Exploits? How does your computer get infected these days? Can you get a virus just by visiting a webpage (but not running any aps / agreeing to intall anything)? [more inside]

Two-pronged question: (1) How common are virus/spyware-infected applications on P2P, assuming the filesize is big (50+ MB) and it's not one of those stupid 50 KB bait files? (2) Are there any good free or shareware virus scanners that are especially designed to examine the contents of executable setup programs? Since I de-sasser-wormed my Compaq machine and updated WinXPHome, I haven't been able to get Mozilla to work; re-installed it twice, re-downloaded 1.6 once, I get nothin' but little warning boxes saying "script error", that, after I un-installed Mo, now pop up when I start IE.
