I ran the Yahoo spyware scan yesterday on my PC on impulse and after it ran the quick version, it recommended a full scan, which I ran. It found two "objects" of a trojan named Kollah.

My PC is running slow. So I went to ProcessLibrary.com to check the programs running in task manager. I've also got Malwarebytes and AVG Anti-Virus running. But these programs aren't impenetrable. Consequently, I've learned there are many legitimate programs that have double identities.

Can I use a flash drive to transfer files from university computer labs to my home computer without picking up nasty malware? I will often need to work on a number of 25-30 MB spreadsheets, both at home and in university computer labs, and I'm inclined to use a flash drive to transport the files. Because of download quotas, Dropbox might not work too well for me. Can I transport the files via flash drive while maintaining a reasonable level of security? If you use a flash drive on common use computers often, what's your method? Have you had security issues in the past? Thank you.

Where do you go for porn? I'm asking in good faith about a genuine problem. When I look at porn on free websites, I sometimes end up infecting my computer with viruses. I've already installed NoScript, and I scan regularly with MalwareBytes and SuperSpyware. Is there anything I can do to reduce the risk of infecting my computer?

So how vulnerable is the Internet to some sneaky worm attack that targets Windows? It looks like organised crime is running increasingly sophisticated malware attacks to control large numbers of clients, if I were a bad person I could imagine a smart, quiet rootkit or similar that infected many, many machines then went live and could be very disruptive.

I can connect to the nets, but I can't FTP into sites (I'm a freelance web designer) with either Dreamweaver or WS-FTP, my weapons of choice.

Soon enough, my whole machine slowed down to a crawl and even after repeated reboots, it's still almost locked. Sound familiar?
