Scribd alternatives? Need suggestions on libraries or products for displaying rich documents (Word, PDF, etc) in web pages, like Scribd, but one that I can host. Scribd is pretty cool, but it requires that you upload and host the document on their servers. This is likely a non-starter for the company I work for. Does anyone have suggestions for presenting rich documents in a web page in a consistent manner, but one that I can run internally. Does not have to be free or open source. Thanks!

USB key-friendly photo viewer for Windows /w tagging?

Can you recommend a lightweight, USB key-friendly photo viewer software for Windows that supports tagging? If Cornice Portable supported tags (or was still under development) that would be perfect, as I use PortableApps on my thumb drive. Ideas/suggestions?

I need to make a presentation of some photos. I use a MacBook pro. I need some sort of Flash picture viewer, something slicker than iPhoto. It doesnt have to be for online, just something i can show people on the laptop. I have tried downloading Simple Viewer, and for the life of me can't get it to work. Is there something easier, with just a drag and drop your jpegs into a box style thing?

PowerPoint Viewer is not showing text

Why oh why won't you show my text, PowerPoint Viewer? I am using PowerPoint 2003 on XP and did "File -> Package for CD" so a client could open it on a computer which does not have PowerPoint installed. When I opened it with PowerPoint Viewer to check it, I found that most of the text has disappeared! Text that is in charts is still visible, as is some text that is in a colored autoshapes, but none of the standard bullet points or text boxes show up.

The presentation is still behaving as if the text is there, as far as animation goes. That is, I can click through the phantom bullet points, and the slides advance as they should. Just...can't see the text.

I used Trebuchet in this presentation, and I've tried both embedding the font (which is a standard system font) and not. I've tried switching to Arial and other standard fonts.

I've also tried opening other presentations with the viewer...And they have the same problem. I've tried it on three different computers. I've made sure that I have the most recent version of PowerPoint Viewer installed.

Given this troubleshooting, it seems to me that the problem is with the viewer.

I've searched Microsoft Support and Google quite a bit, but I'm getting no leads at all from that, which is also puzzling. Am I the only one having this problem? Did a disgruntled client put a curse on me?

Way to watch Champions League Final live online?

The Champions League Final starts in just over half an hour. I'm at work in LA. I have a net nanny. I can use vtunnel to get round it, but I can't access video on channelchooser using vtunnel. And there only 2 crappy sports channels on TVU. How am I going to watch the final live online?

Are there any free, non-trojaned DVD player apps for Windows that will let me view movies and capture frames? (Windows Media Player doesn't seem to do captures). Free or cheap is fine; I don't need bells & whistles.

PDA recommendations:
Needs: Must have CF slot, 802.11b.
Wants: External GPS unit which will work with both my laptop & the PDA
Budget: 399$ or less, not including GPS/additional memory. Must come with standard accessories - cradle, cable, charger, etc.
Etc: Add-on software for viewing PDFs, Word/Excel files, map software.
