I have a friend who's going through a really tough chemotherapy regimen and can't leave the house much, so she's bored to tears. I'm collecting some light entertainment to send her over the next few months, both for at home and for the hours of chemo. [more inside]

I am looking for videos in Italian. I want something like this puppet show, but in Italian, not French. Basically I want Sesame Street or The Muppets in Italian. [more inside]
Can you help me put together a list of crochet blogs and instructional videos that explain in painstaking detail -- like, looped super-close-up slow-motion detail -- how to a) stitch something other than Ch, Sc, and Dc and b) make some simple crocheted gifts? [more inside]
Hi everyone! Not looking to copy or plagiarize - but I am just getting ready to launch a YouTube channel and I don't know what software I'm going to use to edit videos or much about how to get going. I really like the type of introductions used by YouTuber Marzia. Do you know what tools she uses to make them? More in post. [more inside]
I'm looking for YouTube channels that are dedicated to providing education about or insight into interesting subjects. They can have humor in them, but I'd prefer for them to be primarily informative rather than humorous. [more inside]
What device or electronic setup would enable an elderly, non-tech-savvy person to straightforwardly view photos and videos with a minimum of fuss? Difficulty: no wifi, no 4G, no DVD player, no ongoing tech-support access, nursing-home setting with mild theft issues. [more inside]
I'm making a playlist for a friend and I'd like your suggestions. [more inside]
I noticed a few days ago that when I started reading before bed the nightmares I've been having for the past few months became less exhausting. Now I've run out of reading material and would love recommendations for some quick reads/videos/etc that I could indulge in before bed and when I wake up in the morning so my mind stops fixating on bad stuff. Share with me your happy thoughts, please! [more inside]
My 10 year old niece and 7 year old nephew really like to watch music videos. The ones they love most are goofy, high energy, and have some type of underlying story. They are particularly into music that is danceable and visually they like bright colors and crazy costumes or interesting outfits. A few they have liked recently are Con Bro Chill and Meghan Trainor. Any suggestions for other artists they might like? [more inside]
I'm looking for YT videos along the lines of "CheckItOut - Taylor Swift Parody Video for National Library Week" and "Librarians Remake Beastie Boys' 'Sabotage' Video, Win Internet." More like these, please? [more inside]
My eight-year-old son is in Little League baseball for the first time. A lot of the what-to-do-when scenarios are mysteries to him. So we're looking for upbeat, fun videos about all aspects of defense — including knowing where to play for the outs, base coverage, relays, rundowns, and cutoffs — that we can watch so he can see the plays in action. Now that watchlaterapp has been killed by Apple, are there any other apps that let you watch a youtube/vimeo video, stop at an arbitrary location and then subsequently continue from that spot after restarting the app? [more inside]

Looking for couple of music/dance videos that I've lost on the internet. Please help! [more inside]
Last night I came across the Brotherhood of Man musical number performed on the Drew Carey show, and realized it was the perfect video to snap me right out of a funk and make me want to dance around the house (particularly once the full ensemble gets going around 2 minutes in.) Now I want more! I'm looking for more videos of big, bombastic musical numbers that can't help but give me thrills and cheer me up with great dancing. The kind of song that gets even the most cynical person tapping their toes and smiling. Anything Goes is a great example of what I'm thinking of - I also can't resist a giant tap number. Think over the top with jazz hands. Everything a person who hates musical theater can't stand. Don't worry if they seem too obvious - I've only started enjoying musical theater a few years ago, so I've got plenty of catching up to do.
I'd like to show my toddler videos/tv shows/movies/books that include genuine affection - parents, families, friends all giving hugs or smiles or other close, positive interactions. Any good ideas? [more inside]
I've got more than 40 family home videos on VHS tapes that I want to convert to digital on my Windows 7 PC. I realize that I'm probably overthinking this but I want to do a good job. My goal is to capture the VHS tapes at the best possible quality for posterity, and for online viewing and maybe DVDs, too. At the same time I don't want to chase after rapidly diminishing returns, as VHS quality isn't the best to begin with. My problem is that I don't know where to draw the line. [more inside]

I like Jimmy DiResta's videos. I like to watch people build things. DiResta's videos are nice because they are short and fast paced. Many other people on YouTube seem slow and not very polished. I don't mind didactic at all, but pacing is important to me. Do you have suggestions for other people who build or make things who I might like? Subject matter unimportant.
And I don't think I'm going to be the target of hackers anytime soon. But I am in a long distance not-really-kind-of-maybe-relationship with someone where we would like some kind of means of sharing photos and videos of a personal and sometimes-but-not-always sexy nature with one another without running into email attachment limits, needing to jump through a lot of hoops, accidentally sharing anything with the wrong people on social media, etc. What's our best bet? My wife and I have a 6-month-old who goes to bed quite early (not complaining) which means we have lots of evening time at home these days. We have Apple TV and while air playing something last week - I thought, hmmm, maybe we can make a night of this?!?! So, we've decided that Tuesday nights are web-stream nights. We are looking for specific videos (or sites that have great ones) that are any of the following: Educational like any number of videos on vsauce, thought-provoking like videos on The School of Life site or even hilarious like Drunk History. Help me remember music videos from that magical era when bands would record theme songs for (often horror) movies that were actually lyrically about the movies themselves and the artist would sometimes appear in the video and the video would be a story video and...well you know. Think Ramones' "Pet Sematary" or Dokken's "Dream Warriors" [more inside]
Video and audio of online videos (YouTube, Hulu, etc.) stutter quite often when I play them. My laptop is not old by any means and it's been recently formatted. I've updated all the drivers and tried using both the default and HTML 5 Beta players on YouTube; no difference. Seems to be worst in Chrome. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks.

My son is getting more and more interested in animals, which is great! On our walks through the neighborhood we see dogs, cats, squirrels, and birds, but as fall approaches outdoor time will begin to be limited. He doesn't get a lot of screen time, so I'd like to make the 5 or 10 minutes a day count. Please suggest cute, funny, interesting, educational clips of animals, between one and three minutes long. Here's an example of what I'm looking for (although the camera work isn't the greatest). Thanks!
I like music videos that feature clever ideas, wittily executed, and I'm hoping to find a music video blog curated by somebody with similar taste. Some of videos I've enjoyed include Her Morning Elegance, Woke Up New, Bad M*therF*cker, and anything by Spike Jonze or Michel Gondry. What blogger (or tweeter) will help me find more videos I love? [more inside]
I recently discovered Têtes à claques. It's addictive and frickin' hilarious, and has done more for me to pick up Quebec French than any book or class. What similar stuff exists in other languages? [more inside]
I'm making a list of videos that create a very particular kind of frisson: the feeling that the world is a big place filled with experiences to have and explorations to take part in. Have some good examples inside - would love more. [more inside]
So I'm about 6.5 weeks pregnant right now, and immersed in crazy brain juice, nausea, and fatigue. My husband, while very well-meaning, doesn't really seem to get what this pregnancy gig is all about, and I'd like him to bone up so that I can spend more time sleeping and less time explaining why I'm tired. Help us. (snowflakes inside) [more inside]
While settling a disagreement over whether Total Eclipse of the Heart was a duet, I just saw the music video and it blew my mind. I grew up without cable, and am pretty much ignorant of everything but the "classic" music videos from the 80's; please let me know what I'm missing. [more inside]
