Need a video editor for 10 hours of raw wedding footage

When we signed the contract for the videography of our wedding, we misunderstood how raw the raw footage would be. We need to find someone who can edit about 10 hours of footage from three cameras down to about two hours. We don't want to work with our videographer because we are unhappy with his turn-around times and price. Does anybody have personal experience with an editor for such a job?

What is the most best computer/editing software for basic video editing?

For the last dozen years, I have hired editors and post supervisors to handle everything, so I’m terribly out of touch with the best options out there. Can you help? [more inside]

Setting up a Mac Pro for Video Editing

I recently bought a preowned Mac Pro that is wiped clean except for the OS. I need some guidance on how to configure it to optimize its awesomeness for video editing. The OS is installed on a 128GB SSD. It has three other drives (2x640GB, 1x500GB). How should I use the other drives? Where should the applications live? Backup space? Scratch disk? In case it's relevant, here are some other specs: 22GB RAM, 2x2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon. Thanks!

Can someone explain how this video was made?

Hi everyone. You may or may not have seen this popular "vine," called Turning Juice Into Candy. Here are a few more short clips by the same guy, using the same method: Time Change, Throwing Things Through Computers, Making Real Goldfish. I'm basically familiar with video editing software (I assume these were edited with Final Cut Pro or After Effects), but I can't quite figure out how the guy did this. He obviously filmed each shot twice (at least) and blended them together somehow, but the camera *seems* to be both moving and handheld in each shot, which *should* make the shots "unmatchable." But even when I slow them down and watch them frame-by-frame, the match seems exact and I can't figure out precisely how he did it. Can anyone who's familiar with video editing explain this? Thanks!

MacBook for College Student?

My friend's daughter is going off to college to major in media studies. What would be the best MacBook -- new or used -- for her? Ideally it would be able to handle video editing, while still being light. It needs to be as cheap as possible, but it should run Mountain Lion so she can get through most of her college career without having to replace it. What do you suggest? (NB The "Mac" part isn't negotiable.)

Spotlight a moving subject using an online video editor

I'd like to use an online video editor to highlight (make brighter or draw a circle around) a specific dog in a playgroup. I have a Chromebook and work almost completely in the cloud. I feel like this shouldn't be difficult, but I'm having a heck of a time finding this feature. YouTube's "Spotlight" feature seems to be for interaction and doesn't work this way as far as I can tell. Am I missing something obvious? Recommendations for online video editors are welcome as well. I've used Pixorial and YouTube, not much luck with WeVideo. Thanks in advance!

How can I split video into two separate frames?
