Back in the '90s there used to be a "music video" style recording mode on Sony camcorders that created a low frame-rate, slightly blurred or dreamy look - perhaps something to do with using fewer frames per second and blending the intermediary frames. Does anyone remember this and know how to recreate that look in post-production, e.g. using final cut pro, etc.?

Can you think of any good video clips of waveforms in space that you've seen? They don't necessarily have to be copyright free (this is for a personal project), but they do need to be good quality and accessible to me within a few days - I'm doing this project at DVD resolution, 720 X 480... Help me with my "photo montage" video! I'm putting together a treatment for a documentary film using Final Cut Pro, and want to jazz up a sequence wherein the main character runs a bar in the early '60s. As you can see from the rough draft I've done so far: (http://www.wavejumper.org/DirtyBird.mov) - besides being roughly and amateurishly executed, my 3D effect is pretty lame. [more inside]
