I somehow believe there was a THING going on in the 1990s/2000s that involved all kinds of pop stars and presenters and performances that were deliberately intended to be edited into one continuous stream that would fit together (going forward and backward, too). [more inside]
I love songs that feature the female singers going "off the rails" in response to the pain in their lives. Drugs, sex, alcohol! Help me find more songs to rock featuring a woman letting go/losing it to music. Bonus points if they have a music video. [more inside]
I am trying to find a dark stop animation electronic metal video of a black worm growing in an aquarium. I thought it was called "Beast".
I find that video game soundtracks are particularly good background music for programming, but I rarely have time to play new games and discover new music. In the past, I have enjoyed the Superbrothers soundtrack, the soundtrack to Hotline Miami, FTL, certain tracks from Kentucky Route Zero, and the last Deus Ex Machina. Can you recommend post-2014 video game soundtracks that help you to achieve a state of flow?
Looking for a music video from the '80s. Pop/dance music, features a guy and a girl on a swing facing each other with the camera mounted on the swing as it moves back and forth. Interesting spinning effects as I recall. Had heavy play probably on BET (possibly MTV or VH1) for a short period, my guess is mid 80's.
I'm trying to find a YouTube video of two African-American boys (brothers, I think) who do a song and dance routine on a TV show from the 60s. [more inside]
Trying to find a song based on what I remember on the music video. Was sung by a woman, kind of melancholy sounding. Most notable part of the music video was a woman riding a horse and she had dramatically long hair that floated through the sky. [more inside]
I saw this funny and cool YouTube video with two musicians playing on one double-neck guitar. Unfortunately I don't have the link anymore and I've forgotten the names of the musicians. [more inside]
There was a music video (probably from the 80's) with an Alice in Wonderland theme. Not Tom Petty. This had a girl dancing outdoors (in a hedge maze?) doing ballet moves.
I'm looking for a music video I saw on YouTube within the last six months. Two young Japanese female musicians sitting at a table singing. It's mainly in Japanese but there are few English words here and there. It's a poppy, dancy song. In the background some men in green or black bodysuits are dancing around. One of the women eats a worm or grub with a fork. Towards the end one of the women pulls out a sword and chops the men up, and finally the other woman shoots herself with a gun. Does that ring a bell for anyone?
I really like the music in Apple's "Aluminum" video for the Apple Watch. Unfortunately, AppleMusic.info has no information about this video. Any idea who the artist might be?
About five (or more) years ago, I saw a hip hop video where both lyrics and video were medieval/renaissance faire themed. Featured some buxom ladies and possibly a horse mask. More humour than hip hop. Does this ring a bell for anyone?
Vimeo is now removing any uploaded videos that contain any copyrighted music. Are there any services that have similar features to Vimeo, but don't do this? [more inside]
I'm looking for more songs similar to M. Ward's "One Hundred Million Years" for a 20-minute baby photo/video compilation. I have found plenty of kids' songs and songs written about having children. I'm looking for more indie songs that echo the sentiment, "And this love, this love between you and I, Is older than that burning ball of fire up in the sky." Songs by indie singers about endless love, happiness, joy, the beauty of life, etc. would fit the bill. [more inside]
Here's the YouTube version of the video. I tried Google, Shazam, and Audentifi without any results. Does anyone know what the song or artist is? I understand it may be from an audio library or custom made for this video, but I thought I'd see if anyone can identify it.
Hi So once upon a time I saw a music video in which will.i.am and fergie apperead and will.i.am was driving through what I thought was Japan. Has anyone an idea which song this could be? Regards marius
My wife has heard the first track to the Assassin's Creed soundtrack SOMEWHERE before. She is not a gamer. Any idea what video she heard it in? [more inside]
Looking to watch music documentaries in context. Not just a single band. [more inside]
I'm trying to find a trippy music video featuring a train. The whole video follows the train for the most part. As the music gets more elaborate, the train gets a bunch of effects including changing its color and brightness. Another music video by the same band involved a fake PSA or television broadcast that devolves into a song. Does any of this ring a bell? I think the band was electronic, but don't quote me on that.
Question about copyright as it pertains to a music video, a videographer, a musician, and video streaming sites. [more inside]
I want to make a music video for my band, and invite people to send us their own home video of a certain kind of public event for us to include. Are there any legal issues here? Please explain them to me like I'm a clueless idiot because, when it comes to film licencing, I am. [more inside]
I want to get into video making and was wondering where people get their music from. I've noticed that some YouTube partners go to SoundCloud to pick up remixes of licensed songs to get past the copyright infringement--is that okay? [more inside]
I regularly want to make videos for YouTube consisting of a single still album art image + audio track. I use OS X. I'm still looking for the best solution for this seemingly trivial task. [more inside]

I'm thinking of a music video by a Japanese rock band that starts with a long tracking shot of a huge guitar effects pedal chain. I know it is an amazing song but I can't for the life of me recall the name.
Help me find the source of this video clip, it begins at 2:08 here. It's a dance sequence, the one with the woman with short blond hair. Given the subject of the video it's likely from an advertisement in the late 80s - early 90s. The music playing in the background on the video is not the original music accompanying the clip.

Last week, I shared the music video That's What's Up, by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, with my 15 year old and she fell in love with it. This week, daughter was assigned a project in her video production class to create an advertisement for the Sadie Hawkins dance at her high school. Inspired by the ES video, she's decided to recruit some youngsters from the on-campus preschool (where she is a volunteer) and film a short music video depicting a little girl asking a little boy to dance. So... I have this dark and fuzzy cheapo camera video of 15 minutes of myself doing yoga. And I'd like to chop it up into one of those funky arty music videos. If you were me, and you'd never ever done anything like that before, where would you start? [more inside]

I'm finding myself quite happily drawn to the Gangnam Style video. Can you point me towards the best dance/pop/crazy dance videos NOT from the U.S.?
I'm teaching an online course on internet culture and of the first sections is on music videos and youth culture specificaly. To counter-point the peppy more mainstream examples like Rebecca Black, I'd like to show a specific music video of a teen hipster girl singing in a lazy cadence about her love for a boy - but I can't remember her name or the song. She sang with the song's lines running together. She had some vocal fry in there. There was a macbook on the bed. There was only one other girl in the video and they were sitting around the bed mostly. The laid back vibe and simpler subject matter of the video captured something I'd love to show. Anyone know who she was? Thanks!

looking for a Bollywood music video that has men dancing while sitting in toilet stalls--the camera is moving around in a locker room or similar setting and it pans across the tops of the stalls and in each one a guy is sitting AND dancing on the toilet. i know there are a MILLION Bollywood music videos, so this may be like looking for a needle in a haystack, but perhaps someone out there may recognize this one--it certainly is a bit weirder than most of them. i saw it on a monitor in an Indian restaurant, but the waiter didn't know anything about where to find it.
I need to cheer myself up because of relationship troubles and so I am looking for sexy, fun music video suggestions along the lines of Paris by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. [more inside]

I need to find music clips to go with some home videos. This one of Amsterdam is 2:45. This one of Bacharach Germany is 4:02 and this one of Frankfurt is 3:11. The clips are for my own purposes only. I share them with friends and family as reminders of the vacation time we had together. The music should be easy enough for most people to enjoy/tolerate, not too mainstream and should be perky(ish). Here is an example of a video I made on Whitehorse, Yukon where I live. I'm looking for the same sort of vibe for the other videos. [more inside]
