I'm looking for examples of visual timelines in movies, video games, or fiction. Scenes where a span of time is represented metaphorically, preferably as a physical object, diagram, or action. A good example is
this scene from
Me and You and Everyone We Know in which two characters use a street as a visual metaphor for their potential relationship.

I plan to spend 2 weeks in the west coast to one day move there. I am hoping to travel to various cities and explore video game related places. I want to network and talk to people from all video game walks of life, from indie developers to touring game studios. What places should I visit? What studios does tours?
I was planning to tour around late June, but should I center it around PAX Prime?

job hunt / resume question (creative/tech positions). I worked in the video game industry, and am applying for positions outside that industry. Should I include in my resume a note that video game credits are often inaccurate and checking them does not substitute for contacting an employer if seeking confirmation?

I know that some fairly recent video games, at least as recent as Ocarina of Time, have moments where characters (or physical signposts) inside of the game talk about the buttons that the player has to hit. I have a vague memory of this occurring in much older games, maybe characters in NES games saying "make sure you equip your weapon on the start menu" or things like that , but I can't locate them. Can anyone verify times where this happens?

I don't know ANYTHING about video games, but is there one where you "explore" or are otherwise in a rich "forest-type" environment -- i'm thinking it would be something a bit psychedelic or trippy, where a players aren't required to kill things, but discover/explore "LOTR/Avatar-ish" worlds, with hidden surprises perhaps....

Best DLC for PS3? Short and sweet. What's a good ~$10 download for the PS3? (I've got Braid and Noby Noby Boy). I'm thinking of maybe Pixel Junk Monsters, or Flower. Is there anything else I should look at? Basically the only genres I'm not into are Racing and Fighting, but I'll make exceptions for excellence.

I need a solid list of fun video games [esp. Xbox 360 and Wii] that will make (feel) smarter. For example: the game "Portal" absolutely stumped me at times and required me to literally contemplate -- but it was also fun. Half Life 2 had moments like that as well.

I have a gamecube but the only game I have enjoyed immensely is Resident Evil 4. Didn't like the other Resident Evil games' controls and such. Any other games for the 'cube that you can recommend that are first person shooter, whether it be horror/sci-fi like Resiident Evil 4 or maybe a crime game? (Kinda over the WW2 games)...Man, I am a cynical gamecuber, ay...thanks for you thoughts and suggestions. I really appreciate it as I try to get as much use out of this cube as I can.
