My Own Private YouTube: I'm looking for a host service that will allow me to post flash (flv) videos, which would then play in a browser window. But, I also want to be able to limit access to a private group -- say, only to folks I share the video URL with. Does something like this exist?

I've been having problems with YouTube over the last couple of days. Most of the time it works just fine, but it's freaked out a few times, and not worked for an hour or so, and then gotten better. Here's what happens: The pages looks like
this (YouTube homepage), and videos won't play (annoyingly enough, page-ads play just fine). It tells me that my Flash player isn't up to date, which it is. Other flash-things work just fine, including other video sharing websites. Google Chrome is my primary browser but the same thing happens in Firefox. I've asked around and no one I know has had the same problem. What is wrong and how can I fix it?

The latest versions of Firefox

Does anyone know of or recommend a good flash-memory hi-def camcorder that has AV input? (ie it can also record regular/analogue video from another source, like a VCR does, though obviously it won't be in HD).
Something like the Aiptek A-HD+ meets the flash/HD/AV-in criteria, but I'm hoping to find something with better optics/zoom/stabilization.

I'm looking for a library, package, product or some sample code in either JAVA or Visual Basic that would allow me to create a video from my program. I have some software tools I've developed and I'd like some functionality to my program that could take existing video clips and pictures and then assemble them into a video. I would like the final video format to be FLV however any popular format would do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have a great one.

I recently started making animated movies in flash. When I upload them to Youtube or Google video, the audio translates well but the video becomes very jerky. I assume its a byproduct of the way they compress the files, but is there a way to avoid this?

Flash? After effects? Maya? Toon Boom? Something else? I want to make some very simple abstract animation videos. The simplest would be just full screens of solid colors fading slowly into each other. Slightly more complex would be the same full screens of colors fading into each other, but not all at once. That is, maybe start the fade in the center or corner, and slowly leak in the new color. Or another slightly more complex: The screen divided into multiple blocks of different color that slowly fade into other colors. Real simple, slow, mellow stuff. So, what's the right software for that? Thanks!

this. I would describe myself as an intermediate Flash user, pretty well-versed with action script and creating UIs. I don't like creating things from scratch though, and I'm looking for libraries that would help me parse an RSS feed in Flash and any example code of displaying video players within another swf file. Two Totally Unrelated Questions About
THIS VIDEO. Not the content of the video, but the usage.
1) What flash player/UI is that? Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I feel like I've been seeing it not just on Gawker sites, but on many others. Is that a standard player UI that is built into Flash for output to .flv files?
2) Obviously this is totally unauthorized usage. Would this be considered "fair use"? Can anyone recommend any articles on the current state of fair use and online video? Are companies like Gawker and Huffington Post (
example) on firm legal ground with this kind of excerpting, which they then host in their own systems/servers, or are they just gambling that the web is so anarchic, that Mr. Big Media Company won't come a suin'?
