Please recommend movies that view coherently with the sound off. The example that I offer is 'Cast Away,' which, even during the book-ends of its series of scenes that have dialogue, every last minute point of film's exposition is conveyed through blocking, apparent emotions, and, obviously, action.

Many music videos from the late nineties,
six underground by the sneaker pimps being the most salient example to me, have a distinctive cinematographic feel and style to them, with very high contrast (super dark blacks and popping-out, almost oversaturated whites); a lot of murky brown/green and pops of red/blue. Does this style have a name? Is it a film effect or some kind of post-processing, or both? digital? Why was it so prevalent in the late-nineties, and, correct me if I am mistaken, mostly just for music videos?

I'm looking for examples of visual timelines in movies, video games, or fiction. Scenes where a span of time is represented metaphorically, preferably as a physical object, diagram, or action. A good example is
this scene from
Me and You and Everyone We Know in which two characters use a street as a visual metaphor for their potential relationship.

CHALLENGE TIME! You are lent some expensive, professional grade video equipment for 18 hours and told that you may use it as you see fit in the time you have. Assuming little to no preparation beforehand, what do you do and/or film with it? Ideally you'd like the owner (or anyone else who sees your work) to be mildly impressed, knowing that you have no actual solo film making experience whatsoever.

Someone I know who is a volunteer would like a copy of the REACT/Red Cross produced video "Where Seconds Count". He had been told he could view it online, but repeated online searches have failed to find it, and neither the Red Cross nor individual REACT organizations seem to be selling physical copies via their websites. I've been trying to help him find it, but have had no luck. Anybody?

This is a Final Cut question:
I would like to show an image with a video inside it. More specifically, so the question is clear, I would like to show (in my video) a fake website that has an embedded video. So, "the website" will be a still image, but there is video within it. I hope that's clear. Would really appreciate any help!

I have the opportunity this October to travel to three cities in Europe (Glasgow, London and Berlin) and am searching for microcinemas or arts organizations in these three cities that might be interested in hosting a screening of shorts by NW experimental filmmakers and video artists.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thx

Can you help me identify movies about exercise? About working out, exercise trends, aerobics, jazzercise, etc. Sort of in the vein of
this SNL skit. To clarify, I am NOT looking for instructional videos [unless they are really funny or bizarre], documentaries are okay, but mostly I would like suggestions of movies...about exercising.

I make independent films and distribute them myself. I've started sending my movies to independent video rental stores around the country. I've sent my movies to I Luv Video in Austin, Scarecrow Video in Seattle, Video Underground and Hollywood Express in Boston, Acme Video in Providence, and others.
What are the best independent video rental stores in your city? Don't say Netflix.

I'm looking for film recommendations. Films (of any length) that use approach their subject matter in abstract or otherwise unusual ways. Some of my favorites in that vein are
Koyaanisqatsi and
Baraka,
Outside In,
Powers of 10,
Gantz Graf,
Der Lauf Der Dinge,
C'etait un Rendezvous,
Fast, Cheap, and out of Control, and
The Fourth Dimension. Things like
this that, in their own weird way, impart some understanding. Bonus points for no dialog.
