Do you have OLD cats? How often do you take them to the vet, and do you do the 6 month preventative testing-type visits that cat vets typically recommend? If so, how much do you pay for the visit and lab tests? Do I really need to do this?

I have an older dog whose front tooth is loose enough that I can wiggle it with my fingers. I'm taking him into the vet tomorrow, but before I do, I'm wondering: is it possible for the vet to remove a dog's tooth without putting him under anesthesia?

I had to put my dear, grumpy, 16-year-old cat down yesterday. There were some things that I wish the vet's office had done differently, and I need some perspective on how to deal with it. TL;DR.

What is wrong with our dog? He's passing blood again - for the second time in two weeks. He went to the vet a week and a half ago; he had tests and x-rays; he's been on IVs of fluids & antibiotics. It seemed as though he was cured. Then, on Wednesday of this past week, it started up again.

Does my cat have a chronic respiratory infection, or is it possible she just naturally has poor breathing passages? Ever since my partner and I adopted her and her sister in August she has had periodic coughing and hacking fits that have been relatively unaffected by three separate rounds of antibiotics. Now I wonder if maybe she just has the equivalent of a deviated septum, or whether it's time for hospitalization.

My dog appears to have summer allergies, much like his master. I've owned him for about 2 years, and every summer he develops a rash of sorts on his tummy. Vets haven't seemed to help.
