We are currently on an (expensive, $180 / month) ATT family plan with out iPhone 4Ses. We want to upgrade to the 5Ses and are wondering if t-mobile's coverage in the Boston area is good enough. Also, what plan would you recommend for the following parameters? Thanks for your help! [more inside]

I want to buy a new "smart phone". (Hopefully smarter than its soon to be owner.) I want to try (or test drive) them out first. Is there a way to try various phones for a few days before actually purchasing one? [more inside]

What kind of phone should we get our son for his 17th birthday? We'd like to get him something reasonably cool, while keeping it reasonably cheap. [more inside]

Time to pick a cell provider. The big thing is that I use my Android phone for everything. I don't want a computer so the 3G needs to be good.
It's between Verizon and Sprint because I know AT&T gets virtually no service.
So I humbly ask of you, which one isn't lying on their coverage map?

Can you please explain cell phone unlocking as it pertains to CDMA networks in the US? Or, more specifically, I have a Palm Centro for Sprint that I would like to use on Verizon, and I would like some advice on if this is possible and if so what do I do? [more inside]

It's come the time to buy a new cellphone. I have a RAZR V2 and it's falling apart. My Verizon contract is up in November. Should I re-up with Verizon and stay on my family plan or should I break off and/or go to another carrier? And what phone should I look into? All I know is that I do not want a huge fold out QWERTY keyboard like a 16-year-old girl with a Sidekick and probably do not want a Motorola. [more inside]

I'm a big fan of the Ericsson interface, though my current phone (T637
) is on its last legs. Sony has come out with a ton of great phones recently, all vast improvements on what I have, and almost none of which I afford. A few years ago, major wireless carriers could be counted on to heavily discount the newest latest freshest phones, especially Ericssons, and now only ONE carrier (Cingular) sells ANY of them, and they only have the two bottom-of-the-line models. Anyone have any advice or inside information before I bite the bullet and get the cheapo model? [more inside]

I want a cheap cellphone that can also synch with Outlook on a Verizon or Sprint plan. I don't want a camera or other bloatware. Smallest phone is best. Any suggestions?
