Verizon is calling me from three or four similar numbers all starting with 213-223-87XX.
They do not leave messages. I found out it was Verizon by calling these numbers on a blocked phone at work. How to stop this? More info inside.... [more inside]

A friend told me that I should ditch the FIOS router Verizon gave me a few years ago and buy an off-the-shelf router for better results. Has anyone had any luck doing this? I've searched the internet and I'm not able to find any specific details on what routers one would buy to do this.

We are moving to London and we'd like to bring our American mobile phones to use with whatever British network provider we decide to sign up with. We will no longer have a contract with our US carrier once we move. What do we have to do in order to use UK (and other European) SIM cards in our phones and have them work as well as they did in the US? Complication: Verizon [more inside]

Made the mistake of buying an iPhone 5c on which no one can hear me. I've brought it back to the apple store twice, they wanted to give me a third phone and I said no. I'm stuck with the contract but want out of the phone. It looked like the Nexus 7 was going to be a perfect replacement until I found out it don't work with Verizon. Need a contractless, reasonably priced alternative to the 5c. I don't need or want the options of the 5s. Would like to buy new phone over the net not through Verizon or Apple. Any suggestions?

Someone recently stole my Iphone 4 and with my upgrade coming up in December and not having insurance I had to resort to alternative means to acquire a new phone. I purchased a HTC thunderbolt online with a cracked screen for fairly cheap. When I first got it the "device" worked great. I can browse the phone and connect to wifi and have no SD card issues but when I went to activate it at verizon they stuck a 4G LTE SIM card in it and tried activating it for over an hour then eventually told me they were stumped and to buy another phone or call customer support. Up until this morning, I have always been able to use my 3g network, make a call and browse the internet at the sametime on my iPhone 4s. This morning when I went to use my phone a message appeared (while connected to 3g) that stated, Cannot Verify Server Identity. Once I got that all figured out, the capability to use the internet while on 3g and talking on the phone was gone. I called Verizon and they claim this was never a feature on their iPhones and told me I must have a special phone. After some investigating, what they are telling me seems to be true, but I know that I have been able to do this the last year or two that I've had this phone.
I did it last night while talking to my brother and relaying information that I had looked up for him. But! 8 hours later this feature is now gone and only works when I'm hooked up to my wireless.
I'm just severely bugged that this is all of a sudden gone, when I can recall being in my car doing all this (safely parked) and talking to my husband while hes at work.
What could have happened? Was I just imagining this for the last couple years or did they somehow take this capability away from me this morning?

Have an LTE Verizon iPad 3. Want to be able to discontinue data plan during months when I don't need it but easily reconnect if I am traveling etc. Was able to do this in the past (with ATT on an earlier iPad) but now seems only way is to cancel which may require complex dealings with Verizon to reestablish LTE sim.
Easy on and off was the attraction for getting a Verizon in the first place - now they seem to have changed policy without any warning.

I'm looking to replace my iPhone 4s. The most important factor to me is cellular data speed and reliability -- accessing the Web, syncing iCloud data, YouTube, stuff like that. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay region), but it would be great if it worked well in New York, L.A. and other parts of the U.S. Should I go with Verizon or AT&T? Also, any pointers to websites with tools/reviews/resources to help me make the selection? [more inside]

My daughter just got the Samsung galaxy 4 last month. It is using up data like a bat outta hell. I mean really fast. I told her to switch to wifi (like I do with my S3) whenever possible. I'm sure she has a lot of apps and of course she texts as much as any other twenty something year old. Thing is, she says that she can't send/receive texts and phone calls when she is in wifi only mode. We are with Verizon. Is this normal? What can we do?

I got an IPhone so that I can play games while at dialysis to pass the time with. I chose AT&T because GSM network friendly phone can be unlocked and used on ANY GSM network carriers. I got mine unlocked and currently using a Simple Mobile plan which gives unlimited voice/text/data for only $40. A Verizon unlocked Iphone can only be used with international GSM networks (see this link explaining that: GSM Iphone vs CDMA
. So that was the reasoning on choosing ATT.
My unexpected dilemma is GSM (ATT, TMobile, Simple) does not work at my dialysis center. And I get spotty signal at work depending what part of the building I am in. So I just don't get calls when at dialysis or work. I have to forward the calls to my work phone. [more inside]
