Smartest route for an iPhone 7 on Verizon?

I have an iphone 6 with Verizon. My contract is about to expire. Googling has left me with a wide variety of seemingly conflicting answers. What is the cheapest, smartest route for me to get a new iPhone 7? I'm not sure I trust the local Verizon people to give it to me straight, so what has your experience been? [more inside]

Can I move my sim into a different iPhone and just start using it?

My phone is an iPhone 6. Through work I have access to an unlocked iPhone 6S Plus. I would like to try using the iPhone 6S Plus as my everyday phone to see if the form factor works for me. Can I just move the sim from the 6 into the 6S Plus and start making calls, or do I need to involve my carrier (Verizon)? [more inside]

Inconsistent Performance With New Wifi Router

I upgraded from an ancient Verizon Fios Router to their new Quantum Gateway router. I average 50mbs up/down over both 2.4 and 5.0 ghz networks. But there are frequent huge slowdowns (usually to <1mb/sec either up or down - never both at once - on both networks). It's seen on my Macbook Air and on mobile devices. Previous router was robust and consistent. Should I just revert? FYI mffice is upstairs and one room over from the router. But when it works, it works great.

Selling a Verizon phone before having another to activate

I just sold a Verizon iPhone on Swappa much more quickly than I thought I would. I shipped it today and the buyer should receive it tomorrow (Tuesday). I have done this before, but only when I had another phone to activate in its place. However, this time, I will not have the new phone until this Thursday. My question is this: If I have not deactivated the phone I sold and activated the new one, what will happen when the buyer tries to activate the phone I just told to him, which is currently active on my account? Where and how to buy mobile phones nowadays

Since Verizon ditched the subsidized-phone-with-contract deal, I'm not sure what the best way to buy a phone is anymore. My contract just ended and I'm DYING to get a new phone. Time Warner Internet in Queens?

Hey, there. I've been a customer of Verizon DSL for a few years now and the relationship is starting to fray a little around the edges. Y'ever dance with Verizon in the pale moonlight?

I've been a reasonably satisfied Verizon FiOS customer for a number of years, but they seem to be getting stingier with their discounts for existing customers. I've thought about doing the customer retention game again, but I'm not willing to call their bluff and go to another provider. I've read online that some people have had success canceling and signing up again under their spouses' name. Has anyone done this? If so, do they give full new customer discounts? Do you have to cancel service for some number of days, return equipment, etc?

Using a Verizon/CDMA+GSM iPhone on a US GSM network

Verizon have simplified/Europeanized their plans such that you can just buy the phone outright upfront and pay for service month-to-month (I think!). Given that, if I were to buy a new Verizon iPhone next week, I would own a GSM+CDMA phone outright and not have a long-term contract with Verizon. In the future, could I then put a US (not overseas) SIM card in that phone and have it work? Or would I still need to pay a ransom to get the phone unlocked to use it on, e.g. T-mobile or AT&T? Frontier FIOS problems. Service, router, or...?

We recently moved and chose Frontier (formerly Verizon) FIOS for our Internet service since the other option was Comcast. The service is the lowest tier (50/50) but we were coming from DSL with lower speeds and it was fine so we were expecting it to be OK. And it is. Sometimes. Other times it is really slow to unusable. Like, the airport on my Mac won't even connect to the router sometimes. Sometimes it will connect but I have to wait 2-4 minutes for an URL I typed in to load. Sometimes it goes up and down, disconnectng and reconnecting our wifi devices every few minutes. And other times, like right now, it's absolutely fine. [more inside]

I have an LG smartphone (lucid) from my previous phone contract with Verizon but no sim. So it just goes to a setup screen with a language selection option and buttons for emergency call or setup. Verizon email box emptied. Service rep blames it on a "foreign device"

Several days ago, I had about 200 emails in the inbox of my Verizon account that had been accumulated over the past several years. All of a sudden nearly all vanished and remainder followed the next day. I called Verizon and they advised me that a foreign device had entered my email address. The inbox content had automatically transferred to the new device and could not be recovered. They suggested that I change my password, which I have since done. Does anyone have any idea as to what happened? Is it impossible to recover my accumulated emails? Should I be concerned and should any further precautions be taken.
