Why Won't Gmail Send Me a Verification Code?

I'm trying to set up my Gmail account so that I can use my non-gmail account as a sender, however, I can't receive the confirmation code necessary to verify that the non-gmail address is my account. What gives? I thought that the problem might be that I've set up my gmail account to receive my non-gmail emails, and I did that before I tried to set up my 'send mail as' account, but when I deleted that and tried to resend the verification code, nothing happened.

I've checked all the spam filters from both accounts, nothing. I've been trying to get this set up for a week!

What can I do?

How can a bartender verify a Military ID?

Where can I find a good 1-sheet FAQ for verifying various types of US Military ID, for use in a bar or restaurant? My significant other is a bartender, and they have a 'no-military-ID policy' where she works, in the U.S., simply because they don't know what to look for to verify a US Military ID (active duty, dependent, or otherwise).

Can anyone help with a good 1-pager for this? I'm active duty myself, and I've seen a good poster they have at the gates at base here in Korea, but I can't find it online at all. Thanks for your help!

How to verify state-issued sales certificate/tax ID?

How do you verify a state seller's permit/resale certificate and/or tax ID for US businesses? I know you can verify some state issued certificates online (like CA, TX and MN) to make sure that declared resale certificates and/or Tax IDs are legitimate, but is there a site or place where you can do this for any/every US state?

Having a hard time navigating Michigan's gov website in particular.

External drives recognized, but not mounting

My 2 external hard drives (that I use with my Powerbook G4), which worked fine last week, are recognized, and Disk Utility *says* they're mounting, but they do not appear on my desktop. I cannot access the files or copy new items. I have 3 external hard drives--1 using Firewire (Maxtor Onetouch II) and 2 (both Western Digital) using USB 2.0. I have a PowerBook G4 and Run OSX v10.4.6

I recently moved and the 2 USB drives, which used to work fine, now will not mount. When I connect them to the machine, they don't pop up. When I unplug them, it gives me the shpiel about having just unplugged a device without unmounting...?

I went into Disk Utility and both appear as being recognized (the drive itself appears as the orange square with a squiggle), but the volume directory WITHIN the drives don't appear as the orange thing; they appear as white squares. I tried verifying both the the drives themselves and the volume directories within each; they verify fine. When I hit "Repair Disk" it tells me that they don't require repairing.

I have tried other USB devices into the ports on my machine and they work fine. And my Firewire Maxtor external drive works fine.

I can't get to my files and I'm totally baffled. Any help would be *greatly* appreciated.
