We just bought a house, and the bathroom fan currently vents into the attic. I know this isn't good, and I have done a bunch of googling, but I still have questions. Like: who should do the work -- a roofer, a handyman, someone else? Is it better to vent through the roof or through the wall, as our handyman suggests? Any other things I should know?

High-efficiency gas furnace installed where previously there was mid-efficiency. So it vents straight out the wall while the old furnace used the chimney. The vent is right next to the sandbox. How bad is this? [more inside]

Shoe search is not going well. I am looking for a slip-on shoe for casual work environment that is really well vented - I mean, with something like mesh for the main side panels. Merrell made a great version of their Jungle Moc called the 'vent' - but it seems to be long gone.
