Does anybody use whey protein powder to cook anything savory, especially any dinner dishes? I realize this is a longshot question, but web searches haven't turned up much of anything.
And again, I'm looking specifically for any successful recipes that use the whey protein powder, rather than fresh whey. Thank you, o hypothetical kitchen wizards!

I have finally made seitan from scratch (rather than just buying Field Roast), using one of the baked seitan methods. It was GREAT and astoundingly easy! I am now contemplating the many, many flavor profile possibilities that seitan has to offer. Do you have a special spice mix, marinade or preparation method? I'm all ears! (Er, eyes, I guess, since this is a text-based medium.)

My lunchtime staple is a bowl of black/kidney/pinto beans or lentils and brown/white rice, couscous, or quinoa with some type of vegetable mixed in. However, I get bored with the same sauces and seasonings (usually barbecue sauce, peanut sauce, salsa, or just plain with some onion and garlic) and am looking for new ideas. Must be vegetarian (dairy and eggs okay) and bonus points for *cheap* store bought sauces/dressings or homemade from ingredients I might already have in the pantry. I'm not a picky eater and am not concerned with fat/calories.

Carnivores of Mefi, please help this long-time vegetarian make a smashing dinner for her beloved's birthday! I did see
this askme, but I would not consider myself an experienced cook and I really only need one knockout meal (though I will check those resources out!). If you were a meat-eater that did not like pork products or seafood, what would be a great special meal that a regular ol' girl could whip up with a few hours of preparation (and a not-huge bankroll) that would make your day?

Passover meal all planned for my family, I am making brisket, matzoh ball soup and gefilte fish. Only problem is I want to include two dear friends who are vegetarian and one of them is stictly no dairy! Since I will be so busy cooking everything else, I want to find a FAST EASY entree recipe I can make for them-- no meat, dairy or flour--would love a make ahead casserole like matzoh lasagna, but everything good seems to have cheese! If you have a recipe that fits the bill, PLEASE share!

Mountain View (CA) has tons of restaurants, that to my untrained eye, are confusingly similar. I want to explore some of the rarer cuisines here, but most seem pretty veg un-friendly. Where here actually has good veg-friendly food?
As an anti-example: the Shabu Shabu place offers veggies & veggie broth, but it's not terribly compelling. I want places that actually seem to like vegetarian cooking.
