How much does it cost to eat (basic food) in San Francisco?

How much does it cost to eat (basic food) in San Francisco? I'm talking anything from Dennys or In-N-Out to some vegetarian places like Love N Haight to take away pizzas? Ok, something I literally have no idea on is how much it costs (in US Dollars) to eat out at cafes, take aways or budget / cheap restuarants. I'm talking anything from Dennys or In-N-Out to some vegetarian places like Love N Haight.

We're (23 year olds, MF couple) coming over from the UK for a couple of weeks and have looked up the places to eat (as tourists) but have no idea how much to budget per day or per meal for food. We'll probably be thinking small breakfasts and lunch, dinner in the evening. As well as how much a coffee or milkshake would cost at the average cafe?

For example; to get a large Pizza over here would be £9.99 or $20. To get a coffee at Starbucks is around £2.50 or $5.

Thanks so much!

San Francisco: Private Party, February: Recommendations for location, catering, bar(tender?)

Resources/links for planning a 60-person private anniversary party in San Francisco in February? Recommendations for spaces, rentable bars, sound systems, furniture, caterers? It's our first time doing this and we're on a tight budget, so Terra and Levende Lounge are out ($7-20k quoted...). I'm not sure what our budget is -- definitely under $5k, under $4k would be acceptable, under $3k would make me thrilled. We will be providing our own djs/musicians. We've looked at things ranging from all-inclusive bar/hor d'oeurve/soundsystem packages to nice SoMa loft rentals where we'd have to find couches, caterers, and decorations.

We've looked at six locations this week (listed for reference, and for the archives):

BamBuddha Lounge
Circolo SF
Bliss Bar
One Taste SF
Impala Restaurant & Lounge
Levende Lounge

Caterer should be veg-friendly, but not exclusively vegetarian. (BamBuddha Lounge had a great menu, btw)

They range from super swank and out of our price range, to places with seats that get cleaned once a year. So, perhaps the hive mind can expand our options and approach to this.

We'd also consider hiring someone to plan this for us, if anyone can recommend names for that as well.

Rescue my anniversary!

Last minute anniversary plans in San Francisco. Help! So I've put off making plans for too long, and now I need some help for this weekend. I've already checked all the vegetarian askmefi questions, and the San Francisco ones, and while kind of helpful, there wasn't really anything I could really hone in on. So with that said, what are some super fun or cool, and slightly romantic things for two highschool seniors from the East Bay to do in San Francisco on the 10th? Also tips on good vegetarian friendly Italian restaurants would be greatly appreciated. And while not terribly adverse to walking, neither of us drive, so being easy to get to from bart or through muni would be a huge plus. Concerts are out, as is MOMA because that's where we went last year.

Best Vegan places in San Francisco?

Help us celebrate a joyous reunion! What are some of the best restaurants for vegetarians and vegans in San Francisco? One of our best friends just moved out there to be with his beloved girlfriend, and we want to get a gift certificate for them to go out to dinner somewhere nice. They're both vegan, so anywhere with mainly vegan options (or easily veganized vegetarian options) would be most welcome. I'd like to spend $30-$50, so places that aren't too expensive but aren't too cheap would be best.

This has been a long-awaited dream for two of the most special people we know, and we really want to help them celebrate in style!
