I am looking for gift ideas for a vegan couple who live in Denver, CO. Budget is about $80. My first thought was to find a vegan cooking class for couples somewhere in the area, but I am not from Denver and my google-fu has failed me. I'm open to any and all suggestions other than cookbooks because we have already purchased one for them. Thanks in advance!

I drink nondairy milks (mostly almond, some soy) and eat tofu. When I have made these things in the past, I have enjoyed the results but ended up with a lot of dirty dishes. A friend recommended the
Soyajoy G3, which is a countertop electric appliance that heats and grinds the nuts/beans (
previously in 2005, about an earlier model). Does anyone have experience with electric soy/nut-milk makers?

I've come into a pound of carob chips and a large tin of carob powder. My baking skills are elementary level. But I like carob for being carob and not just fake choc. Give me your fave recipes. Bonus if they can appeal to people unfamiliar with it so I can share my handiwork with them.

What is the best time and temperature for baked tofu? Every recipe I read seems to differ wildly on those factors. I've made some that has worked, and some that hasn't. The one time I got it just right I forgot to make a note of which recipe I used.
I like it crispy on the outside but still a bit soft inside. Thoughts?

My boyfriend and I have a cooking puzzle for you: we rather wildly underestimated the price of our groceries when we went shopping this evening, and as a result we decided to try to raid the current contents of our pantry to accommodate two weeks of meals rather than just one. Well, it turns out we have way more stuff than we thought, but we have no idea how to put it all together. Assuming that we can buy $10 or so more groceries if we need to make recipes work, can you tell us how to make the enclosed list of ingredients into 5-7 tasty vegan dinners that are more interesting than just five nights of beans and rice? We know we've got lots of food, we're just not very good at improvising.

I am trying to replicate a recipe for vegan/macrobiotic tahini custard from
Masao's Kitchen. I have tried a bunch of recipes but none come close. The original holds its shape well, but has a nice mushy custard feel, with all of this sweet syrup/juice around it. Does anyone have any good recipes for tahini custard that comes close to this?
