I'm looking for a good book to take on a vacation: nothing too heavy, but nothing too brain-dead. (Too heavy=Shake hands with the devil, Guns Germs and Steel, etc. Too brain dead = Shopaholic-type books, drugstore mysteries, etc). I want good writing without having to think too much. Something along the lines of The Corrections or The Time Traveller's Wife would be great. [more inside]
