Can you tell me whether
this used car seems like a good deal? I'm currently out of the country, but I'm looking to buy a used Toyota 4Runner. I would like to buy a truck/SUV that will last me FOREVER. In other words, I want to keep it as a second car even when it has 200k+. I think that the 4Runner might be good based upon what I know.

Help me decide how to finance my vehicle purchases. I need to get two cars for my family. Could be new, could be used. I want both of these cars to have very high safety ratings. Everything else doesn't really matter. I could pay cash for two new cars, but that just seems stupid to do on a depreciating asset. Is the best course of action to find two used, yet reasonably new cars and pay cash? What if we like having new cars? Should we just lease two new vehicles? I have read that the best course of action is to buy a used car and drive it into the ground. That's great, but what if I leave the country again in 5 years. And do I really want to be driving around in a
Hooptie in ten years. How do I approach the whole buy new / used, lease issue.

Used hybrid cars and their batteries. I want to buy a used hybrid in the US, looking at '04-'07 Toyota Priuses and Honda Civic Hybrids. Looking for your experiences with these cars, things to look out for, driving in winter conditions, and especially any solid info about the service life (yrs/mileage) of the hybrid battery.

I didn't find
this thread helpful. Does anyone have new information related to obtaining car safety information for older cars? I am considering purchasing a 1989 Subaru Loyale, a car I owned prior to having children and loved. I currently drive a newer 1998 Honda Civic, but I really miss my old Loyale. I don't want to move back in time if it will jeopardize the safety of my children.

I am going to buy a used car for my teen. I have the cash. The economy is in shambles. Cars are not exactly selling like hotcakes now. Shouldn't I be able to go to a car dealership and get a helluva deal now? What am I missing here?

Can I buy a brand new 5-year-old car? For example, can I buy a brand-new *2003* Nissan 350Z? Or did they really sell each and every last one back in 2003? Where do unsold new cars go when the new models come out? Any car dealers out there that can explain this to me? They must end up somewhere.

My parents are seniors who, assuming their good health continues, will be able to drive for another 10 years or so. They're about to buy what will presumably be their last vehicle. In addition to the standard points to consider when choosing it, are there any factors associated with aging for them to keep in mind as they’re shopping?

I need to fix up my brother's POS car to sell it. How much effort should I go to? My brother is moving out of state, and since my parents are also no longer in the area, it has fallen on me to sell the car and send the money on to my Dad. (My parents actually paid for the car.)
