I've launched a website less than a month ago, but all the domain names I think best fit what I am doing are taken, so I took a name I don't like. I would like your help renaming it. [more inside]

I am trying to make the case for an organization that it is important for them to have a shorter, easier-to-remember URL for their new website. It seems obvious to me that a website like this would get more visitors, more word-of-mouth spread, and more repeat visitors as well--but I can't find any statistics on this in my searching. Can anyone point me to a study or report which may be useful? Thanks!

IDon'Unnerstand: Some visitors w/ .uk and .jp ISP addresses are googling for an old URL of mine that doesn't exist (used to be stored on Photoisland but the URL expired), and then they're entering my website by the search results. What the hell is going on? Does this mean someone linked to my image and I didn't know it, now the img URL expired and they're looking for it?

So I've finally switched isps, and have moved my blog to the new address...Is there any easy way to let everyone who has me on their bookmark list know? I don't know who or how many have me linked, for the most part. (Google shows my message about moving as the first link for "amberglow" so maybe i should just let everyone find me? The old blog url is dead already.) I'd been using sitemeter and can email each referrer individually but that's a pain, and won't catch everyone. Any suggestions?
