What single tech issue is likely to cause these three things to occur (when they all recently worked):

1. Inability to upload using Flickr Uploadr (the message says "can't connect to Flickr")
2. Inability to sub to podcasts in iTunes
3. GMail notified can't connect to the server?

All issues relate to stand-alone programs which read information on the internet. And yet, visiting these web sites directly is no problem at all. These issues are all new, and I think they relate to my new Netgear router software. I don't have these problems on my laptop, even when I'm using it at home wirelessly. Webcam software for dialup. Is there a reliable program that can, every 15 minutes, open a dialup connection, FTP a pic, and hang up? A client wants to enable fiile uploads via their web site. The web site is hosted outside the company and the files need to be uploaded to their FTP server which is hosted within or on-site at the company. TechSupportFilter: When I upload (perfectly legal) bittorrent files at speeds greater than about 13 kbps, my Comcast internet connection gets completely swamped, and I'm unable to surf the web or download email. Comcast tech support has been out three times over the past month, and they're still scratching their heads. But I get the feeling they don't exactly know what they're doing. Those of you who have gotten way into Bit Torrent: have you found yourself wishing your internet connection had a fatter upstream pipe? According to this FAQ: "Sometimes, limiting your upload rate will increase your download rate ... If you are seeing very high upload rates and low download rates, this is probably the case. The reason this happens is due to the nature of TCP/IP -- every packet received must be acknowledged with a small outbound packet. If the outbound link is saturated with BitTorrent data, the latency of these TCP/IP ACKs will rise, causing poor efficiency." [MI]
