Why can't I run a Windows Update anymore? It used to work; it no longer does. I've tried everything I can think of and I don't know how to get it to work again. [more inside]

Windows update problems... I get to windowsupdate >> http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us >> and then my browser hangs. CPU usage hits 100% and prety much stays there. SVChost.exe / or at least one instance of it / takes up most of that ; about 98%. [more inside]
