Initiating awkward hook-up time! So here's the deal, MeFi. I developed a major crush on a guy after only knowing him for about three weeks, and, in a drunken flirtation session, stupidly told him. The flirtation has since stopped - since he just got out of a relationship and wasn't looking for anything serious, he thought it'd be unfair to me if we hooked up while I liked him (fair enough, I suppose). The thing is, after getting over the harshest part of the crush, I think I'd like to initiate something physical (only) with him. [more inside]

I have recently quit smoking and am on the road to recovery.
I am looking into options into cleansing programs. I know the years of smoking has
probably mucked up my system with many poisons and has reeked havoc on my lungs n such.
I want to hear from Me-Fis regarding any programs or treatments they know regarding any de-toxing I could be doing.

Dog-gone-paws-filter: I adopted a dog, and she's can't keep her paws to herself. She paws people to get their attention, and constantly jumps on people for the first few minutes of interaction. I've tried the tricks I used to train my other dog (ignoring them when they behave badly, grabbing their paws and scolding "no"), but it doesn't seem to work. Even the "a tired dog is a good dog" method doesn't decrease the pawsy-ness. My friends and family won't have anything to do with her cuz they have muddy-paw-print-on-clothes-phobia. Help! Aside from this one bad habit, she's a Good Dog (TM), and oh-so-eager to meet people.

I'll be travelling in the US (mostly California) in January, and looking for free (ideally) or very cheap (no contract) nationwide dialup service. I've downloaded Juno (http://www.juno.com) to try it out - though reading the reviews, it doesn't sound promising. Wondering if anyone have any experience with Juno and/or if there are other suggestions out there.

What are the benefits of "dressing-up"? I am female, in my 40s, professional in a fairly casual office. Make-up, hair-dos, and other markers of being more dressed up seems like a waste of time. What (if any) are the benefits of being more dressed up that would make it worth the time/cost/effort? [more inside]

Hello, a while ago I heard a quote by Eleanor Roosevelt but since then I haven't been able to find it anywhere. It was along the lines of your mind growing with your experiences and age. The quote expresses her initial worry when as a late teenager she assumed her mind would maintain the same (limited) mindset, paradigm, mentality even into her adult, aged years. If I remember correctly the quote is short, being only a line or two. Thank you so much, this quote is very important to me!

On a recent trip to Mexico I came across a restaurant with a concept that I think would do really well here in the states. I have no experience in owning or managing a restaurant. At this time, I'm not interested in the gritty details in restaurant management, I'd like to know where I could find people (or investors) who would be interested in something like this. Are there people out there looking for concepts to finance and/or start up restaurants? If so, how do I find them and present my idea to them?

Help, Help !! If anyone has experience with Dreamweaver and setting up the “Site Definition” settings; either basic or advanced mode for “Remote Info” I desperately need your advice and it would be very much appreciated. Runbox is my web host and I use “cPannel” to manage my web files. I can’t figure out what settings to use for “FTP access”. What would my “FTP host” be and what should I put in there this field? To be honest, I’m not quite sure what a FTP is although to use Dreamweaver’s functions, I need to set this up and have not been successful. Next question; Am I correct in saying the “Host Directory” would be in the “public_html” folder in cPannel that all my web page files are located? Any advice would be appreciated. I’ve tried multiple times and days to set this up, but I must be doing something wrong. Thank you in advance for your cooperation…Orlin

A good buddy of mine and I are thinking of starting a business together. We are meeting tonight for a brainstorming session. The goal is just to start the dialog. We are going to take inventory of our strengths and weaknesses and start to throw ideas out there to research in the coming weeks. What are some good things to discuss in this very preliminary meeting? What are some good ways to make sure we make the most of our time tonight?
