Sinking while trying to complete undergrad

Hi all. I've seen questions touching on similar points but none that really pinned down the more important particulars of my own situation, so here goes nothing. I'm a twenty two year old student now in what will be my sixth year of undergrad. I got to this point because, after my first two years went rather swimmingly, I suddenly fell pray to a mystery syndrome, complete with crushing, unrelenting mental fogginess, high anxiety and severe depression. My life has become an obsession with trying to find a cure for whatever this is, (medication for depression, therapy, supplements, sleep studies, hypnosis, meditation, lifestyle changes, etc. Nothing has worked and so I won't bore you with the details here. My problem is really my current standing in school. What was once a shining record with a 3.6 gpa and distinctions is now a narrative of consistent failure and I need to know where to go from here and most importantly, how to do damage control. What's a Positive Way to Think about a Cameo?

My job on a university campus entails incrementally building relationships with faculty and administrators over the course of many years. In the fall of 2012, I will be subbing for a director on a different campus for one semester. It doesn't make as much sense to slowly build relationships because I will be returning to my home campus in Spring 2013. Yet, I still want to be proactive. What is a good framework for thinking about a one semester cameo on a new campus?

Branch campus annoyances

I work as an administrator for a university and am based on a branch campus. My department would prefer it if I would spend the summers on the main campus, which involves a more arduous commute for me. My commute would bump up from 40 minutes to 1h20minutes. I would prefer to remain on my branch campus. My "higher-ups" like to frame things in terms of "let's negotiate something that works for everyone," but the power differentials tend to mean that I usually just go along with their preference. Are there tried and true methods for underlings to resist persuasion/coersion?
